My 1st question is: Why is lending tree allowing people to apply for loans with no SSN? Many thanks for any comment. Second question of mine... I have been battling an Arrow acct. on dh's report for sometime now, they have continued collections w/o validation, they have lied to the AG's office (and I pointed out their contradiction to the AG's office which proves they were lying) To the point, dh had a Friedman acct reporting c/o as well as Arrow, assignee of the account. He has NEVER recieved anything from either company the alleged DOLA was 97'. I disputed both tradelines with the bureaus Friedmans deleted from all bureaus first time.

I have disputed with Exp 4 times, verified everytime.

Everytimne same response from them, (never contacted us, these agencies would just forward their response) In one letter from the AG's of IL they suggested we sue (as I am sure they suggest to everyone when they cannot resolve an issue) anyway, Arrow told the AG's office that they had 'already' validated the account (not true of course) and that they refuse to validate b/c it was well past the 30 days required by law (see the contradiction) then they go on to say they were assigned by Friedmans until Sept of 02 when they purchased the account (I requested validation 1 week before they bought the account) anyhow, I pointed that out to the AG's office, that they claim to validate but then say they refuse to validate b/c of the 30 day thing then go on to say they purchased the acct 1 week AFTER I requested the validation. (see where I am going with this? That means I requested validation BEFORE the 30 day period even started) All that was stated in the same letter by Arrow to the AG's office. Well, I finally decided we were going to have to sue (during this time he recieved the VERY first letter offering a 10% settlement) Well, I decided to try the Estopell once before filing, sent it last week, got a letter today saying deletetion. What a**es. I still may sue anyway...

Just in case you guys are interested, I did sue Arrow Financial and they settled out of court. This case took over a year to come to conclusion, and they were prepared to fight. My attorney told me that Arrow NEVER settles, and they had seven other pending cases against Arrow they were currently litigating..

I'm not going into details of the case here, but I ended up having to go to Chicago for a deposition before they finally agreed to settle. Let's just say the settlement I received was favorable. Arrow loves to play hard ball, so unless you are willing to go the distance, and endure some hostility in the process, than I wouldn't just flippingly sue them because they ticked you off. I had them on multiple violations of the FDCPA, FCRA, etc. and I had a paper trail five months long before filing suit. I won, but I am one of a handful of people who decided to really fight them with the lawsuit..

The District courts of Illinois are very un-consumer friendly, so it won't be a walk in the park..

Don't get me wrong, I hate Arrow Financial as much or more than everyone else here, and I was very satisfied at sticking it to them in the end, but make sure you have your ducks in a row before going after the bas*ards..

Feel free to email me offline if you want more details on how to handle Arrow...

Which letter is that? The John F. LeFevre/Cass letter indicates the 30 days does matter..

Arrow does suck, and good 'ol Lance Martin, their general cousel sucks as well. Is that who you were dealing with when you were contacting the AG office?.

They just love saying that they don't need to validate because of the thrity days..

I think that they have something special going on with Exp, kind of like RMA, because I was able to get them off all my other reports except for Exp. Hmmm~.

To jdog: Congrats on going the distance with Arrow. They may try to bully everyone, but you proved that they just love to PLAY hardball. lol..

Yep, Lance Martin is the one I cold caught lying on paper. That is what is weird, in the last letter he told the AG that he had no further comments in this matter due to the threat of lawsuit (I had replied to the AG in the letter before that we were going to sue)but that his position stood the same, he was not budging...

He's a tough one, I gotta give him that at least. But in all of his efforts to really stick it to us and make us pay for crap that they can't properly verify, he always trips himself up. I just gave up dealing with him and I'm just going to wait for the derog to fall off in a year. I think I have spent almost a good year dealing with Arrow and it has been a collosial pain in the ass...

Actually, when I stated Exp above I actually meant Equifax, not experian. If anyone has had them sticking on Equifax, let us know...There is something going on there...
