Quick question: Why don't banks own a controlling share of Discover Card? Thanks for any response. My other question... :sigh:.

A friend of a friend, referred me to this board. God Bless that man's soul!.

I finally printed at my credit report, after ignoring it for who knows how long....

I have 2 Public Records for Civil judgment against me by Calvary Portfolio Services, for a Sprint Bill that was $500 from when I was 21, that through their collection process, has now gone up to $1,008..

The 2nd judgment is from Palisades Collection for a AT&T bill (before they became Cingular, & switched back to AT&T), where the bill was $377, and through their collection process, is now up to $1,059. (Which was opened in 2001).

The judgment must of been brought against me when I was living in NY two years ago, but I've been living in Pennsylvania ever since..

I would love to remove these judgments from my report but do not no where to begin. I notice that even on my credit report, the original debtors, AT&T and Sprint don't even show up on my credit report, just all the collection agencies that took over the accounts....

Where do I begin? I have never been actually served, never signed for anything, never knew of anything, so them taking me to court, is all new to me. (Tis the reason I didn't put it in the Help! I've been served forum).

Thank you so much!..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could help you..

Welcome! once you've read up in the newbie forum about how to start the repair process, you'll do a blanket dispute (after some other steps) which will clear up many of those duplicate CA accounts..

As for the judgments, how long ago were they awarded? dating is an important part of the game...

I'll watch this thread carefully because I found out upon getting my credit report last week that I have a judgement against me (for which I was never served) filed 12/2007. But I don't want to hijack your thread, I'll make my own..

Good luck!..

Start by contact the court and getting a copy of the judgements so that you can verify they actually exist (go read whychats sticky in the HIBS forum)..

If they are legit, then research NY state law to see if you are still able to have them set aside. Once you have that info, you can plot a path forward...
