Quick question... Which company is better to work for Lending Tree/HOMe Loans Center or CountryWide? Many thanks for any answer. Another question... EQ just reinserted a satisfied vacated judgment from 1997 on my husband's report....

They had deleted it just less than 2 weeks ago after we sent them copies of the court papers showing it as vacated. Have the "investigation results" letter showing it as deleted along with an updated report without that judgment on there..

I don't understand WHY they would do this. They must receive updates from someplace that provides listings of public records for them and just put it back on there..

So, they have 5 days from the date they reinserted the item to notify us, correct? My first thought was to get on the phone and ream EQ but now I think I'll let them hang themselves..

What idiots!!! They even added a new line on there "verified 2/2003". How can they delete and then change their minds and verify it?..

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Lending Tree as they probably can answer it..

Do you have a definite date of reinsertion? If so, then WAIT before contacting them. They have 5 days to notify you (plus mail time). OR...they can notify using other methods that may also count, i.e.: phone, email notification, whatever, but THEY have to contact YOU..

Damn the luck!!! Now what you do is this....

Opt out on your credit reports regarding promo inqs, etc. If the cards you just got (corvette, etc) for hubby pull an AR inq, they may cancel you or jack up your rate. So, by opting out, if they do an AR, they are in violation. By opting out, they cannot to inqs...soft or hard (I'm pretty sure-others will chime in if Im wrong)..

Good luck!!..

They can email a notification? So, because he's signed up for their credit watch service- the "alert" email he gets that something has changed counts as a notification? WTH!.

It was just reinserted today...

I'm just wondering WHY they reinserted it when they just deleted it two weeks ago! They have the court papers clearly stating it was vacated!.

Wouldn't that be a FCRA violation in that they are reporting information they KNOW to be inaccurate because they just deleted it at the beginning of the month?..

I don't think the Creditwatch email counts. You never agreed to accept that method of contact..

From 611: if authorized by the consumer for that purpose, by any other means available to the agency.

BTW remember on reinsertion it's 5 BUSINESS days + mail time. Don't want you to jump the gun...

Opting out does not prevent an existing creditor from performing an account review and inquire into your credit report. Opting out only means that creditors can't perform "promotional" inquiries in hopes of extending you credit..

Any current creditor can access your reports since they have an existing relationship and business need to know..

I don't necessarily agree with that, but that is the way it is...

Golly, smontoya,.

Sorry...I seem to be ona roll of misinformation today. I am glad others are here to correct me when I lose my head. Actually, I'm glad the info I had was wrong!.

Hope all works out. Let us know how it was reinserted. If you sent them the vacated paperwork, then it is interesting how it was reinserted. May be an automatic thing. BUT if it is, it should be cloaked for 12 months at least...

Fire off a complaint to the CEO. EQ insisted on reporting 2 dismissed cases on my CR. I disputed and they kept verifying them as judgments. They never made it that far..they were DISMISSED...LOL...idiots! Finally I got pissed and wrote the CEO. Two weeks later I got the deletions and a letter of apology from Mr. Chapmans office..

It couldn't hurt to try.....

I have always had excellent results with getting re-insertions removed by faxing Robin Holland's office and following up with their office a day later..

Fax them a nicely worded and specific letter detailing your complaint and also fax a copy of the letter from them showing that they deleted it..

Do not talk about any legal action or anything, from my dealings with her office they are really on top of things and I have gotten deletions while on hold with those people..

She once told me she wouid delete and my credit file would be updated by 3:00pm. I went online at 3:30pm and "Poof!" it was gone as promised!.

I had a new copy of my credit report which I can't believed they Fed-exed from their office the very next day as requested..

The fax is:.

Equifax Consumer Affairs, Attention: Ms. Robin Holland.

Fax (678)795-7798.

Direct (678)795-7800.

Phone the office in a day or 2 and usually a person named Debbie will answer, Robin is usually never available to talk but Debbie can help you greatly so talk with her..

Good luck I hope this helps!.

Tac,.

For future reference, do you recommend waiting the 5 business days, to protect yourself, or are you saying they are nice enough to go ahead and delete when you contact them?..

I faxed the other day some information on accounts that needed to be updated ASAP..

I then called the office the next day and Debbie said they did receive my fax and it was on a supervisors desk..

She then transferred me to the supervisor named Lynette and she was super nice saying she was already working on it. I told her what was going on and she said let me access your file...."Hear clicking in the background", She then said "ok" it's done, I said they are deleted and she said "Yep", but wait until 3:00pm today to pull your report, thats when our system updates. She said, "Your all set Mr. Tac, I have also flagged the account so it will never re-appear in the future.".

Sure enough I pulled a CR at 3:30pm and it was done as promised with a 69 point jump!!.

My advice is when calling that office or faxing that office, leave your attitude at the door as they are very nice and work super fast to take care of legit problems..

This is the 3rd time I've used them at the consumer affairs number and they have yet to fail me!.

They are not the same as calling the number on your credit report but I wish they were all like that!.
