I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you an answer..

I remember getting declined for hooters card when I had over 680 score with 1 fraudulent account under dispute.

I'm actually glad that I got denied after reading about them in CB..

Yeah Im pretty bitter about the denial but only because I needed a positive tradeline to report to EQ asap and it seemed like an easy win.

They hard pulled TU.

I noticed today they soft pulled EX too...not sure about EQ yet.

What I found really shady was their "credit decision" letter dated Jan 05' with a Jan 20th postmark, right after DH called and flipped a little on them about no credit decision after the TU hard pull.

Customer service trying to find out what was up with the ap was a nitemare.

Maybe I should be greatful it was denied (not that hsbc is any better)..

Just got my card today. I had a 636 TU score. $300.00 cl with no annual fee. It's my first unsecured card since my ch. 7 discharge last August so I'm happy to have a new TL..

I like this card right now. My husband has a thin file - no credit at all, positive nor negative. No credit score. He applied tonight after I saw this thread, then searched the "credit pulls" database (link at the top of CB in the menu bar) and saw that Hooters exclusively pulls TU. TU is the easiest CRA to work with, I think most people agree. So that's a big plus..

And he got the 7-10 days instead of the normal "30 day written response" he normally gets, so all signs point to Yes so far!.

Just BE SURE to get the automated phone call if/when it comes in - I read that some card companies call the phone number provided to verify it's the right number, and it can earn a denial if you don't get it/return it. Not sure how accurate that is... ?

My experience. I applied. The website crapped out on me so I wasn't sure if they got the app. I got a phone call on a SUNDAY. I wasn't going to answer because I didn't recognize the number. The guy (who was really nice btw) asked me my whole life story.

SHOCK VALUE. He laughed and said I would be hearing back in 7-10 days. 5 days later an ugly Hooters card w/$600 cl was in my mailbox. No annual fee...

I've never heard of a single person getting the AF waived or not getting one at all, the new terms and conditions of the bank states everyone will get a AF by feb 21st.. so good luck with that no af....

Had my Hooters card a couple years, originally had a $500 limit. A couple months ago they bumped the limit to $700, but also hit me with a $96 annual fee billed monthly. I don't recall getting anything in the mail about it. I still had a balance on the card at the time. But now the balance is zero. I just got off the phone with them trying to get the AF cut.

Nope, can't reduce the fee. I said go ahead and close it and she didn't hand me off to retentions or come up with some secret fee reduction offer. The only reason it didn't get closed is at the last second she said I had some points and I wouldn't be able to redeem them once the card closed so I said I wanted to check what I could get with them and would then be back..

My only problem is right now I'm really trying to get my utilization back to sane territory. I just got approved for a $800 Walmart card. It report on EX today and my utilization went from 50% to 43% according to CCT. My Barclays statement closes next week, and that should drop my utilization by about 10%. That gets me really close to 30%, and my understanding is that 30% is a good number to be under. Closing the Hooters card basically undoes the benefits of getting the Walmart card.

My largest card is about a week's income. My total open credit less than I make in a month. (I've got some higher interest closed cards that prevent me from paying (with Discover card) down the open ones as quick as I would like)..

Is $8 worth getting utilization down a few weeks earlier? $8 seems like nothing, but $96/year is absurd and insulting and it felt so damn good to be telling the woman on the phone to close the card...

Does this card have any ties to the Orchard Bank card?.

I thought I read about that somewhere, but I am not sure..

I have an Orchard Card in September 09 (CL-$320) and a Capital One in December 09 (CL-$500) since finishing a debt management program in August 09..

My TU FICO is 606. Should I apply for this card as my 3rd card to help build back my credit? Or does is there another card I should look into?.

I have 1 CA, 1 CO, and a couple 30 days late from mid 09 from the DMP (which are BS)..

Thanks in advance...

No...they are affiliated with Merrick Bank. Actually you seem to be a good candidate for this card. I'd go for it. My score was around 590-600 when I applied (my last late was in January or February 09)...
