First off, Where can you find cases of Lending Tree mortgage fruad? Thanks in advance for any response. My other question... Chase "R" just cut my "go to" APR to a fixed 6.99% !!!.

They also offered a 0% BT for 12 months if I agree to a one-time $35 fee - I took it and never looked back!.

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at Lending Tree as they probably could help you..

I originally got the BT thru 8/2003, but since they are right now #1 in my book, I'll let them have the $35 as they assured me I don't have to worry about paying interest until 200.

My scores are just above 700 and my utilization ratio is high but carefully hidden from the CRA's ;).

BTW, Chase said if I agree to pay an annual fee ($45), they can offer an APR of P+0%. If you've read Butch's "rule of 72" post, you know this could save $$$$$..

Ok so I'm ignorant on certain subjects lol.

Could someone explain to me the roll of these Retention Depts..

The only thing I know about Retention is that it rhymes alot with detention, that word being one that I heard many a time in school lol..

Ok gritboy.

Basically retention is the act of retaining. The job of the retention dept is to try to keep you as a customer..

Hope that helps :)..

I wonder if Chase Retention (remember when we didn't even know if there was such a thing?) would laugh at me if I tried to get two repricings reversed. I was at P+1.4%, then P+7.99%, now P+11.99%...

Yow! If you call this number (posted by "Platinum"), you should get as low as 6.99% fixed. Complain REAL LOUD how upset you are that your account got repriced to astronomical interest rates..

Marci,.

Thank you for your reply. Saar and I are dubious about my chances, due to my 99% utilization on that card and others, but I'll give it serious consideration...
