Quick question: Where can I get a Visa/Discover Card with no bank account and no credit check? Thanks for any response. Another quick question... They give me a form and make me file it on my taxes for the AF of $25 they charge me, I never did it, why is this and would could happen if I don't ?

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you an answer..

I can't even understand your question, let alone the illiterate drivel contained in your post............"would could" ???.

I would presume the OP meant `what could' happen if they didn't, but I don't understand the question at all either. A 1099-C is forgiveness of debt, which is issued for charged off bad debt, nothing associated with an annual fee should have anything to do with taxes whatsoever...

I was asking if it was a 1099-C. If he allowed the AF to be charged off, he might receive one..

Why didn't they just close the account and credit back the $25 fee since you didn't pay it???.

1099 for that small of an amount lacks logic (but what do I know...never had one)..

Did you get $25 for opening a banking account with Chase? If so that $25 is considered interest (1099-INT) and yes you have to declare it as income.

If you ignore it, the IRS will come after you in 18 months or so with a letter. Interest and penalty....

I find this to be a distasteful attack on a member who is seeking help and now has not responded or updated their legitimate request for help because of the shelling received for, perhaps, not having the best command of written language skills, totally unnecessary. Please remember, we come here new, as you once were too...

In Wizards defense, rlee has been having his posts moderated for a reason. He's demonstrated a satisfactory command of the English language when he's using it to berate people...

MANY of us have been hounded by Chase and other B/M banks to open accounts in exchange for amounts ranging from $25 to $150 (offers vary by bank and appear also to vary by specific location of the State). Such inducements are taxable and WILL be 1099'd as interest income...

There is a vast difference between being "new" and being without a basic command of communication skills. While we were all "new" at one point or another, the overwhelming majority have a basic command of one language or another, and are capable of communicating their needs, sufficient to elicit a response in answer to the query submitted. We're not here to interpolate gibberish, just to attempt to answer the question asked. There's a reasonable expectation that an individual can communicate his/her needs so that he/she might receive a correct answer to the question posed. Think of it in terms of the difference between "bar soap" and a "detonator"..............You shouldn't need a schematic to decipher the question.........perhaps the answer, but not the question............jmho...
