Quick question: What site can I go to for phentermine diet pills that take a Discover Card ty? Thanks for any response. My 2nd question... Hi all. Newbie here. I'm 28. Just started my 3rd business but to do so maxed out my credit cards this past summer.

They still show as maxed out and I'm sitting at a 562 (faco) score pretty much across the board because of that. That's not my issue though; this is:.

When I was younger and dumber I got my first Discover card offer from 1st Financial Bank USA. They gave me a $250 limit and an exorbitant interest rate. I wasn't great with money and got to the point where I basically ignored that I owed them money. Not smart, I know. :-) I opened the card in 2000 and by 2003 the balance was $1600. I offered them a settlement of $380 and they countered with $750.

This is where it goes wrong....

How do they report monthly after this? I would assume they would report it as Charged off once and then stopped reporting. They didn't do this. Instead, they reported the account as a Charge-Off for 5 years straight. Then it stopped. Then I look a few days ago and notice they've started reporting again! They reported "OK" in November, "Key Derogatory" in December and "OK" in January. I don't understand why they're reporting anything at all..

What's more is that from what I gather, "Key derogatory" means that the account is currently in a state of charge-off. Mine isn't and hasn't been for 7 years now.

I have a few questions:.

1. When you settle at a lower amount than owed, what is the credit issuer supposed to report as a monthly status after it's been paid and the account closed?.

2. What does Key Derogatory mean and what potential reasons would the account be reported to be in that status?.

3. Why would there be recent reporting on this account?.

Thanks in advance. I wish I had known what a headache I was causing myself 7 years ago. I would have just paid the entire card off.....

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you an answer..

Thanks for the replies... I wondered if they were doing this to stick it to me. Is there anything illegal about reporting on a closed account? If I gather correctly it seems that they should be able to report up until I pay it off/ close the account, whether that's for a the full amount or a settlement and then shouldn't be able to report after that. After all, it's not as if they've continually written off the account for 5 years. They wrote it off on one tax year as lost income and that's it. Is this valid grounds for a dispute?.

If that's not a battle worth fighting, can I offer to pay them the difference between the original amount (~$1600) and the settlement (~$750) to get them to pull it off?..

1fb did/does this to me too...every month it reports charged off, past due, over the limit....FINALLY it is falling off this year, TU already deleted it and it should be off by summer on the other 2....

I have went as far as corresponding with the CEO and several others in the company...they don't give and if you press too hard they will snap back at you....and they WILL NOT remove it from a report..

They don't sell their paper and make it incredibly difficult to get them to go away..

GL..

Yes, it's violating the FCRA to report the way that they are. do you have proof that your account was paid off & closed? have they re-aged the date opened to continue reporting past the 7yr reporting period?.

Your next steps need to be carefully planned...
