I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably can answer it..

True that does depend. When my sister was late the checks (partial payment checks) were returned to her. Its too late now, they have a foreclosure judgment...

There is no guarantee, of course, but I have done the same thing as Jen back in the day. If a person needs to go this route, though, I believe it's important that payments be at least full (normal) payments... more ideally... and not partial payments...

That's how I was raised, too. But, in my own life experience I've also learned that you need to be flexible and adapt to your current situation as well...

Sadly, this is the sort of behavior that becomes harder for issuers to punish under the piece o'crap legislation...this is PRECISELY the sort of conduct that UD provisions and associated AA should be permitted to address.....

You'd rather issuers be able to punish people for paying (with Discover card) their credit cards before their mortgages?..

UD was totally unfair to the consumer. Issuers can still address it - CLD or closure. They just can't jack the interest rate to 30% just because you are late on your mortgage (or other bills).

With the new bill re: RJ, I wonder if more people will slide to 60 days late, knowing they can't be RJ (and not caring about the lates)...

I would rather issuers be able to protect their interests by limiting the ability of people to LIVE off of credit cards. If they are already over-extended, then the consumer SHOULD NOT be racking up MORE charges on their cards. An insolvent person should have the credit tap turned off IMO...

CLD addresses that concern more directly and more effectively and is still allowed. Problem solved. UD has no place...
