Got a question, hope someone can answer... What is Continental Finance Discover Card's website? Hoping for any comment. Another question... My DGF applied last night for the FIA Schwab 2% visa. She wasn't given instant approval. Her scores are generally strong, and there's recent entries in Credit Pulls with similar stats. |

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could help you..

I had the same thing happen with my BOA RCCL visa through FIA. I called, they were very nice, asked a few questions and said I was approved. It was painless...

FIA can tale a few days. I got approved with scores no where's near that but they also wanted to verify Ssn and emolument too. The card is great though. I love it to be honest/.
Just give it some time and then call to see what is up. You will see the card online within 24 hours if approved... |

Thanks guys. She was a little stunned by it and wanted me to get some input here. I think this is the first time she's not been instantly approved for something. (Yes, I am a lucky man. I'm definitely going to marry this one..

Instant approvals have become less common. And the fact that one is not instantly approved has nothing to do with creditworthiness. Some of us who have scores hovering 800 are rarely instantly decisioned, but approved later after a manual review..
Good luck... |

Seriously, congrats on finding the right one..
Have you looked at getting 100k British Airways miles for both of you?. Http://www.mychasecr...ishairways/tray. *IF* you spend $30k a year, you can get a companion pass, that will get you First Class for both of you pretty much anywhere on the planet... |
|
Hey, I can take a joke.
Honestly, I did think about that card, I suppose what I was worried about is... that $30k in the 1st year would be thiiiiiis tight. I could foresee a few costco trips in the 12th month just to inch us over. But we'd have do forego any other rewards card for that one and if we didn't hit the $30k, we'd be leaving a lot on the table in missed rewards that we could've earned from that 12 months of spending.. It's a tough call. Sooo attractive but, a little risky and I guess I wanted to play it safe and bank my 2%... |

We got a call from an underwriter yesterday. In the end, it was an approval for $5k. We'll probably go for a CLI at activation, but even if it's declined, $5k is fine. Her other LOCs look like this: 14k, 7k, 5k, 2k, 1k. (First Financial, Citi, Chase, GEMB Lowes, GEMB Home Depot).
They asked her a LOT of questions. Among them:. 1. What kind of savings do you have.. 2. How do you and (me) split your expenses each month.. 3. What do you do at work.. 4. Did you earn a degree for all this SL debt?. 5. Planning any job changes or major life changes?. 6. How much are you paying (with Discover card) monthly on your SL's and other debt?. 7. How much debt do (I) have?. 8. What percentage of your spending are you expecting to do on this card?. There's probably others, it was about a 15 minute conversation.. It's the first time she's had this kind of interview for a CC.. This post has been edited by. Encoder. : 12 January 2010 - 06:47 AM.. |

Congratulations to her. The Schwab 2% card is one of the best cashback vehicles around; it's my go-to card aside from groceries, gas, and drugstores. I didn't receive instant approval either but received the card within a week without any contact from them..........

She lurks here so I know she appreciates all the help.
I've lucked out, that's for sure. I'm just about to crest the 600 mark so it's very nice I'm able to take financial advantage of this while I'm still rebuilding.. Not to mention, having me as an AU on the account is certainly not going to hurt, especially since I've only got $1500 in revolving limits reporting right now... |
|
That's ridiculous. Is she applying for a Discover card or adopting a baby? It's hard to tell...
