That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Lending Tree as they probably could give you help..

I've been itching for a fight with jlynn, and THIS SEEMS TO BE THE BURNING ISSUE DU JOUR about which I can destroy any chance of forging a friendly relationship, lol. MY VOTE IS:.
NO CUTESIE EMOTICONS ON THIS BOARD, PLEASE. I tend to use the regular emoticons a lot, like this... :) And somehow, those flow with the text and aren't a huge visual distraction. Whenever I read boards with enabled emoticons, my reading literally jolts as I reach the ber-punctuation. Rather than a friendly facial expression that's organic to the thought, it's like suddenly somebody screams "OK NOW I'M SMILING BROADLY.". That's my vote, and I'm sticking with it.. Doc.. |

My vote is with Doc - no emoticons. Emoticons, although cute on boards discussing puppies and kittens, should be left off this board..

This upgrade improved performance but did not improve the board options at all... there are TONS of mods that could be made - instead we are stuck with the same forum as before just a faster search.
I say YES to emoticons, smileys, and a look that resembles standard vbulletin web sites... |

At a minimum I vote for standard font sizes and 100% width - let them move the ads so as not to interfere with the 100%..

I dunno... boards are boards - it's not the fancy stuff that's important - it's the information. However I must admit it would strike me as a little funny if CN would add emoticons becuase the new board has them. Would seem like an attempt to woo people back, when in all liklihood, most people (well some) will continue to visit both boards..

LOL I was referring to our new board. I found them during Beta testing. They appear (when enabled) if you type :) or :(.
I couldn't figure out how to do the toothy one that Robert did in the Bug Report Forum. (Reminds me of my 10yr old!). But everyone has lots of good points for no. I just thought I would mention they are available.. And it's always great fun to harass Kaliban!!!!!!!!!. Jlynn.. |
