My question is What credit score is usually required to get a Discover Card? Many thanks for any answer or 2. 2nd question I got is.. I have a Wal-Mart store about 2 minutes away from my house. I stopped by and applied at the electronics register. GEMB approved me for a Discover account type 2 (19.90%) at $2,550 limit..

(I was almost expecting low-limit store card, lol).

Just a few days ago I applied for a Citi secured card with $200 deposit (they seem to not want to give me any unsecured cards at the moment). Unsure of approval status on this one..

Do they (GEMB) do snatchbacks? Will they CLI if I give it regular usage? This Wal-Mart Discover is now my highest limit by far. Previously it was my Capital One/Chase at $1,000 each..

I'm a college student trying to build credit, too. I did get another card before this and it was one with my local CU...

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably know..

C`mon GEORGE be nice! We know you really do love Ge money bank and walmart!.

But discover walmart card is different than the store card.. I believe it's worst.. no auto limit increases every four months, your lucky to get it every six months..

I don't know if the discover offers 0% for 12 months, or correct me If I'm wrong? oh wait they do, I guess there is the only small downside...

The upside is your APR is a Tiny better, not much though.. still a card you don't want to carry a balance on, PIF and you will like it....

Watch out for this on the promo though...

*****For in store purchases an Offer Certificate, available in store, is required and must be scanned at register at time of purchase to receive this offer.***** No finance charges will be assessed on this promotional purchase if you pay the following in full within 12 months: 1) the promotional purchase amount, and 2) any related optional credit insurance/debt cancellation charges. If you do not, finance charges will be assessed on the promotional balance from the date of the purchase at an APR of 29.90% (or the APR that applies to non-promotional balances on your account, if lower). Regular credit terms apply to non-promotional purchases and after promotion ends to promotional purchases..

For new accounts: Standard purchase APR is currently 13.90%, 19.90% or 22.90%. Delinquency APR is currently 29.90%. Minimum finance charge is $1.00. The APR applicable to your account is stated in the account opening documents you received..

All APRs are accurate as of 9/09 and will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate (as defined in your Discover card agreement).

They lie because no person at walmart even knows about scanning any promo certificate, I charged $400 for the promo, I asked the person they said they knew nothing about it, they called the CSM again they know nothing, they said it will automatically pick it up, which is a LIE, they try to do this to screw people and get them to pay interest, so once the charge is not pending anymore you must call GE money bank or alike, tell them you wanted the promo, they must go into the computer and enter the promo so you get the 0% offer for 12 months, if you got charged interest or alike they will credit you, if the rep won't hang up and call someone that knows what they are talking about.. that is the only downside to this.. but if you think about it, it can save you a ton of money.. you charge $1,000 at 0% = $1,000 for 12 months / you charge $1,000 at 20% = %1,200 for 12 months, so watch out!..

Anyone had problems getting CLIs out of GEMB?.

I've only had the walmart card for about 9 months now.

Hit the luv button around 6 months and got the finger.

Should I try again @ 12 months or am I wasting my time?..

LOL. not to be confused with so-called rewards like 0% promos...which is not a reward it is a marketing scheme to get the consumer to spend more...
