Macy's issued a reasonable/standard limit based on your credit profile upon app, just because you have one or two larger accts with other issuers doesn't mean it is incumbent upon macy's to take the same considerable risk that a few others have..

Also, the requirement to display the annualized interest rate did not start with the Card Act laws. It has been done for years. These kind of dumb/sensationalist stories pop up every time the annualized interest rate includes a one-time BT fee or minimum payment on a tiny balance. That's one personal finance columnist who just lost all her credibility, by deciding that changing the minimum finance charge from $1.00 to $2.00 was worth an entire article.. There are a zillion other. Significant. Negative impacts from the Card Act and banks' predatory behavior in general. Making a big deal over whether a minimum finance charge is 0.50, 1.00, 1.50 or 2.00 is rather silly, especially if someone is supposed to be familiar with personal finance as part of their job ..... |

Macy's routinely issues low starting CLs, particularly if you app online.

Ill be the first to admit it's only good if you plan to use it for the extra discounts you get and then pay it off. I would think everyone knows you dont carry a balance on a department store card. Any of them...

I'll rest my case Taylinth, you're right, it is just frustrating when so many people spend so much time trying to disabuse a member of a clearly mistaken stance and nothing seems to make a difference.
