I’ve recently received a few emails about transitioning from a free blogging platform (WordPress or Blogger) to a hosted site. This blog used to run over at Blogger, but I made the decision to buy the domain and host it myself. Specifically, I’ve been asked which website hosting company I decided to go with. There are so many option available that it can be a little overwhelming.
I went with BlueHost. The short story is that I knew nothing about having a website or web hosting but I just decided to dive right in and am glad I did. I first read about BlueHost at This Writer’s Wallet, but then I read a few reviews (both good and bad) and decided to give them a try.
It’s definitely been a learning process but learning about hosting and working on a website seems like a worthwhile cause in this day and age. I’m continuing to learn as I go, but so far I’ve been really happy with BlueHost.
