My 1st question is: Visa Electron/Discover Card Prepaid in IRELAND? Thanks for any response. 2nd question I got is.. I'm looking into getting a secured Discover card to build up my credit, do you have any suggestions of companies?.

I heard HSBC/Orchard Bank has a good one, as does American Express. But I'm not sure who to go with..

Help!..

Also if you can get in to a credit union Then I will also try to get a secured card from them. Mines from NFCU has not AF or monthly fees, Great card..

If you have blank credit file(not bad credit) - try wells fargo. they unsecured me after 11 month and given 5k Discover card without annual fee. After 4 month of that they given CLI to 7500. Nice bank =)..

If you have a clean file, I would suggest.

Just wanted to add my two cents, I used National City and it's a wonderful card. It reports unsecured, only $250 to open and.... it offers a few perks like rental car insurance...

Open search window..

Type in "secured" in box..

On the right, choose "search titles only".

Then go over and sort by # of replies..

Well, my credit is far from good..

A few months from my 18th birthday a CD company put me into collections for CDs I never even received. They took that off after several months of disputing it. Then some awful stuff happened within the family and so the two accounts I did have open went negative my bank and Verizon. Verizon is on my credit report last I saw and the bank hasn't gotten there yet and I'm in the process of trying to get that taken care of..

Thin file, and what's there is ugly..

I can honestly say though, not really my fault but I am trying to fix it and up my score...

+1.

I would try a local CU..

Go to the ones near you and stop by and talk to a loan officer..

Let them know what you want..

I have found serveral goldmines less than two miles away from my house...
