Quick question... Vanilla prepaid Discover Card Gift Card? Hoping for any comment. Second question of mine... I just paid off my last outstanding Discover credit card balance of $1527.00 on 11/07/09..

It shows a zero balance now on Equifax..

When I request my 'score power' score from Equifax it is nearly the same as what it was before I paid off my CC..

I was expecting a much larger jump in score..

Can it be that my true score has not been updated yet? Even tho Equifax shows my new balance at zero dollars?..

As with all things FICO, it depends on your scorecard (which of course you can't know)..

In my case I've found that when ALL credit cards report $0 balance, I lose maybe 10-15 points. However, a miniscule (i.e. $3) balance reporting on just one card regains those points..

NOTE: You don't need to pay any interest! Just PIF it when the bill it cuts..

Funny eh?.

Scores, no matter the model, are current as of the moment that they are pulled...
