I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you help..

Thanks Breeze I guess I am making the first step in atleast finding you all here..
Think I am ready to cry,My head is swooshing. I think I am getting somewhere and boop, I get knocked backwards, bAck to square 1.. I am upset that these predators are allowed to do this to people already hurting.. My Husband just called to tell me that he had the appt with a local attorney and that the guy basically said let them get a judgement against him and that it would cost thousands to defend andnot worth it for 2000$. I don't owe this debt but somehow I feel that I will be made to pay as well as my husband.. Guess I better prepare and yank what money we have into an account in my name.. Not sure what else to do.. I see an attorney who deals with this and Portfolio\apothaker in western Pa but I don't know if he can help because we are in Eastern Pa.. Guess it''s worth the call We don't have much to lose at this point.. Does anyone know if time gets close to running out if an extension can be granted in civil JDC case?. Hopefully I will learn quickly and be more prepared incase another scumbag comes to surface.. Sorry for the Rant, just bummed out. Ripple.. |

Don't apologize for ranting, we all have to do it from time to time..
As to your question of an extension...have you been served yet? If you have, then it's up to the judge as to whether or not an extension is granted. Go post in the Help I've been Served forum.. If you haven't and the creditor is still in the "threaten to sue" stage, lets see what we can do to help you.. We just need a brief description so we have an idea of what your dealing with. Try to include:. The name of the original creditor (many respond to specific tacticts we can direct you towards). The type of debt (medical, credit card, auto, etc). The Date of First Delinquency (Mainly to decide whether or not the debt is still in SOL). The name of the CA (same reason as the OC). What you've done so far. What state your in (Many states have pretty good consumer protection laws..also to verify SOL). This post has been edited by. Jtoast. : 13 January 2010 - 03:54 PM.. |

Ripple,.
Check out the "I've been served" section of this forum. There's lots of experienced folk that can help. The most important thing is to respond and not let them get a default judgement. Good luck... |
