If you read the last part of this post I wrote back in October 2008, you’d see that I mentioned I was signing up for my first 5K.
Well, I didn’t. I just never signed up and gave up on training, you know, the usual.
And then there was this post about purchasing the P90X dvd workout system. You are supposed to work out for 90 days. I worked out for about 90 minutes.
Maybe working out and getting in shape is not really my thing. As if that is a good excuse.
Well, I’ve decided to give this whole running thing another shot and I decided to try a 5K and actually sign up this time! I signed up for this one! Doesn’t that look fun?
At first I was just going to do it on my own and surprise Bird, but then I decided to include Bird. Which was a good deal because once I told her about my plan, she bought me new running shoes!!! So I signed us both up and the total cost was $50. But that includes zoo admission and a t-shirt, not to mention the fact that $40 of it is tax deductible. So really, it’s an amazing deal! $10 for 2 t-shirts and 2 zoo admissions which I think go for about $12 each!
The good news: I’ve been training. I’ve gone running maybe 3 or 4 times in the last week. And I’m getting better.
The bad news: The race is on 8.29 which is only 2 weeks away!
