Paying Visits

by Forest on January 29, 2009

This morning I took a break from work to visit a country club with Bird.  We’re scoping out potential reception sites.  We got a little lost on the way, but we eventually found it and it was really nice.  Every place we see has some pros and some cons.  So eventually we’re going to have to make some decisions.  For now, I think today’s site is definitely in the top five.

After the tour, we stopped at Panera for lunch.  $18.35

Today is the day my friend closes on his new house.  After work, Bird and  I plan on going over there, checking it out and celebrating with him.  I guess it was a foreclosure, so there is a bit of cleaning and painting to do.  We plan on getting that taken care of this weekend and then I’m hoping I can begin moving some stuff as early as next week.  I’m still really excited about it!

The best tip I got early in wedding planning was to either pick a package and spend the cash, or spend the time and get a BYOB venue and bring in vendors.

I had no idea at the time, but BYOB was worth 5K or more alone.

Thanks for the tip…that’s pretty much exactly what we’re debating between except there are so few venues that allow you to BYOB!
