My first question is Looking for the sign up page for imgaine Discover Card? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question... I'm 22 Years Old And Have ALOT of Credit Cards, NOT Alot of Discover card Debt tho. I have so many credit cards that Im thinking I should cut them down to maybe just a handful. Many of them I do not use anymore at all and I really dont see a use for me keeping the account open. Would it be a wise choice to close the cards? Would this affect my credit score? How does this affect me applying for a car loan in the next 6 months or so?..

DON'T OPEN or CLOSE ACCOUNTS FOR F.I.C.O..

Do what is best for you.

"IF" you have sub prime cards with annual fees and have better cards...close the sub prime ones.

"IF" you are paying (with Discover card) interest...pay off the HIGHEST APR first..

All I can see that is an issue is the $304 card.

I would tell them to increase it to $1,000 or close it..

I pay $15 AF for one of my cards I got it when I was 18 (over 10 years ago) and is by far my oldest card (my next oldest may be 5 years old now). So if I closed this I would loose a lot of age, therefore it is worth $15 a year for me to keep the card open. There are situations (I think) that an AF is worth it even with good credit...

Yea it's with HP, I got it when I got a new computer with them, but I havent used it since. I had a 1200 credit, then 2 months after I paid my balance off they lowered it to 304, I think I will follow your advice and close it, I have no use for it now...

CAN'T BUY ANY COMPUTER FOR $304 IN THIS CENTURY.

Ask them for the $1,200 back first....

If they say no...CLOSE IT...you have nothing to lose.

True, but 10 years goes by fast, and some good, closed accounts drop off early. I definitely would keep that card open for a $15 AF per year.

Hindsight 20/20: I wish I would've kept my first credit cards open...or some in the years that follow. I had no clue and closed old ones as I opened better ones. I could have 27 years of history instead of 12 years. Length of history is an important part of a stable credit profile. Keep it open, pay the $15 per year and smile...

12 is not too many.

Let the age build on these.

Except the low limit card George mentioned.

I think I have about 24-25 open, and 17 I have cancelled along the way. (Thinking I should have let some of those 17 ride)...

At 22 years of age I had no credit cards, and if I had, I would have been clueless as to how many I might need in the years ahead..

If I were you, I'd sit tight with you have nowalthough I'd probably attempt to combine the 2 Chase and the 2 Citi cards. That's just my own preference, thoughI try to keep it to one card per issuer..

No matter how you go...you're way ahead of the game for your age...
