First question I got is Lending Tree mortgage: Should I go 5 year or 7 year fixed rate? Thanks for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... Hi Gang,.

First, I wish to thank profusely all those who have emailed us your kind words of support. I wish I could get back to all of you personally but time won't allow it. I also appreciate your willingness to stay out of the fray, despite your strong feelings on the matter. I encourage you to continue by concentrating on helping yourselves and each other..

If I may, I'd like to address a few issues that seem to be prevalent among your posts in the last couple of days. I do so as one of your peers and only in an effort to help the board, and help YOU..

One of the primary themes I've been hearing is:.

"What will happen to CN, now that all the knowledge is gone", or;.

"Now who will be here to help me fix.

My.

Situation", or;.

"Will the board collapse now that all the knowledge is gone"..

Basically what I'm getting ready to say is that CN can survive, share with you how, and then tell you why I believe it will..

When this board began I'm quite sure that those newbies, now absent vets, were rather lost, inexperienced, non-battle-proven and confused. It took them years of hard work to get where they are now. Years of trial and error, losing court cases and generally a lot of bloody noses before they got as good at credit correction as they are today..

I owe these people too. All 3 of my reports are picture perfect because of them. My heart is broken because of all this turmoil..

I know, as well as you do that this long arduous process was not easy for them. We ALL will eternally owe them a sincere debt of gratitude for "leading the way", and not only helping to make CN a success but pioneering the way for the rest of us..

Whether or not this epic struggle ever gets resolved sufficiently to bring them all back to the board, I don't know. It is my deepest, most sincere hope that some solution can emerge and the vets will rejoin the larger, more important battle at hand, the battle between consumer and CA/CRA..

But if it doesn't, or if it takes a long time I want to share what I see by way of long-term vision and how it relates to you, your personal struggles and your families..

If I may I'd like to borrow from Doc's post which reasonably describes this board's general membership distribution. I hope he won't mind if I shorten some of it, in the interest of time..

He said:.

All hail to the newbie indeed. I think what's going to happen in your future is also "pretty simple". I mean it's simple for you personally..

Simple however, ought not be confused with easy..

Continued:.

So let's ask those 3 questions again, and see if we can illuminate the terrain in which we find ourselves deployed, :) :.

"What will happen to CN, now that all the knowledge is gone", or;.

"Now who will be here to help me fix.

My.

Situation", or;.

"Will the board collapse now that all those who built it have "left the building""..

The knowledge is NOT gone. It's already memorialized in 300,000 posts. Practically every question you can think of has already been hammered out and addressed. No matter where you are in your journey there is a member right next to you who knows more than you do. These components, combined with the search function, and your willingness to fight will get you through it..

In the end this process will result in the emergence of a whole new society of "vets"..

Search out those more knowledgeable people and if necessary ask them to help you. The incredibly enormous resources of CN have not left the building folks. The CreditNet building is far from empty..

Your fight is up to you to finish. Don't you see, it always has been. That you cannot survive without the CN vets is an illusion..

Listen to this quote from Winston Churchill:.

"Far, far better it is to dare mighty things too win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much, nor suffer much, because they live in that gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.".

CN will survive because it is my belief that YOU will accept nothing less..

And if necessary Goddammit you can rebuild this entire board from the ground up, all over again!.

So you're all at a fork in the road, so what, won't be the last time..

When I said the solution is simple for you I was preparing to ask you a critically important question; are you going to win, or are you going to lose? CreditNet is merely a communication device between winners to aid you in your fight to the finish line, nothing more. All the power in the world is in this decision. All you have to do now is make that simple, yet not so easy decision..

I anticipate that once this is resolved, indeed if and when if ever is, and we move beyond the current problem, including upgrading the software getting new moderators etc., CreditNet will be bigger, better and faster than ever before. There will be a.

New.

CN family, one which has been through the battle field RECENTLY with bigger and better strategies that apply to today and utilize new laws and new technology. I foresee thousands of active members on CN all working together again and helping and building new and even better friendships..

Some cynical SOB will be along soon and proclaim this a self-promoting, futile statement, a last ditch effort to save CN. So be it. Do not allow them to steal your personal empowerment. I guess that's all part of the decision you need to make but I will tell you this; My average score is above 780. I do NOT.

Need.

To be here, BUT I AM HERE. I get all the kudos I need in my professional practice, my family and friends. But I will be around to help as much as I can. Although I may need a bit of a break right now.

I.

For one, will not give up on my fellow CN buddies..

With Warmest Possible Regards,.

:)..

Well thought out and simply said. I am one of the "mid-termers" who has asked some questions, had scores that ranged from the low 500's to the highest 600's. They have gone up and down this last year as I spent every day with some time devoted to Credit Repair. My husband and myself have almost reached the end of our clean-up, I've posted some thoughts along the way as to how painful this journey has been, and how joyfull when it gets deleted and the score "Jumps". The advice and the knowledge on this board has led me the whole way, and as Butch just said, all these conversations are recorded here for ever. Yea, the search "sucks" but, it is still there.

I was on FatWallet yesterday, and to hear the flat out disrespect we are receiving now is bad. They call this a "Civil War" and thats not what this board is all about. We are here to share and learn the best ways to make the quality of our lives better.Only you can put this all aside and get back to the business this board was set up for, "credit Repair". I for one am going to stay in the building and continue to grow wiser about credit every day..

Thanks,.

Ship hattens LOL.

People come people go...

The knowledge for the most part is hidden within the posts and in reality in as much as the other folks helped out a lot much was just re-hash of prior folks and so on ...

Not taking anything away from the folks that left. But life goes on with or without them...

It's not like Lending Tree credit repair started yesterday..

So the board will move on...

The folks that left will get bored cause in the end it's the new folks that start stimulate the discussions..

And in time the wound heals and they will drift back ..

Maybe some fresh ideas is a good thing ...

Maybe that the CRA 's think that CN is dead is a good thing..

One thing I can tell you after all the crap it did nothing for my credit scores LOL.

So for all the new folks that think this is major issue..

Don't let it bother you.

READ the FAQ 3 times.

READ the laws 5 times.

Seach the archives.

Google is your friend.

Know thy enemy.

Never use the phone to discuss anything..

Never verify anything over the phone.

Never send any cancelled checks paid bills or whatever.

Document the crap out everything you do..

Persistance is the greatest tool.

Be a creative write don't boilerplate..

I credit repair.

Therfore I dispute.

I dispute.

Therfore I create.

I create.

Therfore I CRRR.

Hey Butch great job you did. having been an admin on many lists I know of the crap you went thru..

Man gets judged in the end by the size of his heart and not by the the pen or the sword ..

The pen and sword can write about and hurt the heart but only the man within himself can remove his own heart..

And give it to his wife and children LOL.

And you thought I was getting all sentimental LOL.

Use your ego as a tool not a weapon..

Maybe the admin should look at upgrading the the latest version 2.2.9. this may help some of the performance issues..

However it maybe just a volume / bandwidth issue too..

Considering the size of the board think it does OK..

Oz, when I offered to be a mod it was exactly for that reason... I wanted the board upgraded and I know how to do it (see my board at forums.htmlcenter.com).

The volume means nothing... (see bigbigforums.com) they have posts that have over 500 pages and has no problem coming up in 1 second.

Now the owners will have to do it without me :(..

I am testing.

For client looks to me to be the same stuff except it's cheaper (free) IMHO a nicer interface.

However it could be hardware bandwidth issue to either will make the software look slow..

Oz - it is very popular too - tho vbulletin is by far the category leader and you get loads of support with.

Vb.

....

Either one is nice - we were going to use phpbb on htmlcenter.com but decided to spend the $85 for.

Vb.

Its' not really the 85.00 I just don't like the drab MAC looking style fuzzy interface...

Maybe there is more templates out there I have not really looked...

The other reason I may got to PHPBB as I knwo ferw folks who run it so I have some ears to chew on if needed..

What are they using here for DB ??..

Yes I have been clawed by the Jaguar more that you want to know.. (sigh).

I like the new mac laptops but I need a bundle of win32 tools and tons of unix stuff ..To do my network and firewall stuff.

And yes I know the Jag is unix based but the key word is based ...

I just don't have the time or really care about hacking and recompiling to use tools etc ...

Plus the better half just coughed up 1800 + for my new stinkpad so another new laptop would be out of the question.. (sigh).

And I need serial ports arcane I know, but not many routers etc use firewire ..(grin).

Yes I can buy usb adapters but I have found then to be problematic..

And the number 1 reason. IBM support is the best 3 year they come and fix it on site warranty..

So for me thats important also I have clients where I can just pop in hard drive to load the laptop as a linux or NT win 2k server etc..

But I may get a Mac maybe next year when the smoke clears.

As for the BB this is kind what I mean.

I mean as compared to some thing like this.

Vbulletin is superior to phpBB. phpBB is a copycat bulletin board as are MANY others! The support at vbulletin is GREAT! I had it for 2 years!.

They should have gzip installed at this site and they will getter page load times as well! It comes with vbulletin, but I think it is in a later release! you can set your gzip from 1-9. EXCELLENT STUFF!..

Butch,.

You 100% correct...the building is intact and we're still in it. Yes, I do agree it might be a bit more difficult on us because some really sharp members have decided to call it quits for whatever reason..

However, we can pull together and make it work. Might take a little time but we'll get there..

Best regards,.

I never had any doubt that the building is intact. and that's why I found it aggravating that people were posting about their leaving, while putting everyone else on the board down... dismissing the very existence of this place..

When I came here.. like many others, all 3 of my reports were awful. Right now, both TU and EFX are clean with a couple items left to go on EXP. I plan on staying on here to share what I've learned..

Well written, Butch...

Not trying to start a fight or anything but I don't really think that.

Vb.

Is superior to a lot of products out there for a couple of reasons..

#1 being cost ($85 v. $0).

#2 support (lots of free support for a bunch of free forum software)..

After all, the best things in life are free ;-).

But that's just my opinion....

As far as the look of this site, that was chosen. to see another site using vbulletin look at.

8-)..
