My 1st question is: Is the Tribute Discover Card a good card to have? Many thanks for any response. My 2nd question... First, thanks for all the helpful info, I have been lurking around for the past few weeks gaining tons of info on this mountain I am trying to tackle. But here is something I am needing some help with....

Ok, I am working on my hubbies credit report so we could possibly be able to land a mortgage next year. He had a auto loan with Bank One which became Chase. It ended up being repossessed in January 2006. Last payment was in October 2005 from what I can see (last payment according to CR is October 2005)We have moved many of times, etc and finally located my last statement today which I may have paid/may not have paid (amount due showed $1439). It showed a balance of $12,642.25. This point in time in our life was crazy as we were losing everything.

If I recall correctly this is what it sold for at auction. BankOne/Chase reported on all three of the Credit Reports 2/2006 and have not reported since. The balance shows $0. Additionally does not show being sold off, charged off, etc. With this continuing on the CR till 2012 (although one report shows dropping off 12/2010) I would really like to get this off..

Should I validate the debt to see actually what the balance is? Then possibly PFD? I am lost as it is showing no balance..

Thanks In Advance,.

Jen..

Well, I owed the $12,642.25 in October 2005 when my payment was due (I didn't pay) and they sold for, I believe $9531 (I remember it being 9 something when they mailed me notice that it sold and this was the amount of the last payment on the CR (2/06)) So, I should have owed the balance ($3111.25) plus any fees they found necessary to add on, lol. But, the TL shows a balance of $0, past due $0, charge off amount $0, Balloon Payment Amount $0, no charge-off, no collections, etc. Nothing more reported or updated since 2/06. Equifax for example shows Current Status:REPOSSESSION. So, I am afraid if I dispute they will come back with a different balance than what they reported 2/06.

Hopefully, I am not confusing you, hehehe...

It shows that balance because they know that they did an illegal repo....(not getting your plates back) and I'm sure other things...
