Got a question... Is lending tree a trustable company? Many thanks for any response. Another question on my mind: Bill, just because I shot down (no pun intended) one idea, if you share your issue in detail maybe someone can suggest some ideas... |

Yup, but... you might want to make sure and wait for another person to confirm my answer as I am not confident. Better yet, why don't you email the Lending Tree guys because they can answer you better...

OK. No problem..
Obviously if I give them any reason why I dispute the item they can easily claim it's frivolous and evade the workload I present them. Equally obviously they consider us little more than a royal pain in their bottom(line).. A simple letter back which states nothing at all of any value to me and they are off the hook. So I want to force them to investigate without giving them a reason in order to maximize the chance they do a thorough job and investigate each and every aspect of the listing so I don't have to send them a ton of disputes.. Also, if at all possible I want to catch whomever I can in a mistake so I can lay one on them for a violation and I don't much care whose hide I nail to the bathroom door... |

That is true, but usually doesn't take place until the 2nd or 3rd time you dispute the same line..
This is the very reason you start out with a not mine. Sometimes they will delete easily and you don't have to worry about it. Most other disputes will "self verify" the account is yours. Once you find out you can't get the easy deletion, then you move on to very specific items to make them dig deep. By not saying anything you are actually making their job easier... |

DANG! Never thought of it that way. Thanks..
Here is another one.. How long can student loans be reported on credit bureau files? Does the 7 year limit apply to them too?.. |
|
Hi unruly,.
Just a thought ... perhaps you can use the Crap One card as a hidden tradeline and hide your debts on that card, and artificially boost your FICO score? You can get back the points you lost ..... Lakpr.. |
|
Somebody else is going to have to answer that one...don't want to be caught in a lie. I believe if it is paid it falls off after 7, but unpaid? Don't know if there is an exclusion for federally backed loans...

I had a Crap One deleted off two reports during CHOD. It reappeared on EQ. It just turned the two year mark, so I had gained some points, and I haven't decided whether I would be shooting myself in the foot for demanding deletion since they didn't notify me..
TU deleted, it was reinserted, and my Guardian Angel there deleted it for good without me asking.. So, it will probably reappear on it's own... |

What is CHOD? I've read the definition in the Glossary but WHAT IS IT?? (Did not mean to hijack this thread)...

During the period between Thanksgiving and the end of the year, many Cneters send in tons of disputes. The FCRA says they have 30 days to verify. With all the holidays, people taking vacation, etc. the theory is that it makes it harder to verify information in 30 days, because the CRAs are short-timed, and short-handed, and the OC's are busy with new credit apps for Christmas. It has mixed results with it working with anywhere from great to no results..
I'm sure one will be scheduled next year.. BTW it worked great for me :).. |

Thanks, Jlynn! Now I am upset I did not stumble upon this site last year!..
