My 1st question is: In what way credit card organisations such as Discover Card & visa make profit? Thanks for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. I was hoping that putting me on as an authorized user on one of my father's credit cards would help my credit report. They asked a question that I didn't expect them to when we called Chase. They asked him if he wants me on jointly or as a user only. They didn't ask for my social security number but he told them to put me on jointly and they mentioned that I would be responsible for the account if something happens to him.. |

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you help..

In this one instance; I am positive nothing bad will happen. His house is new and paid for...he hates using credit cards (FICO score is a little over 800), he has a fixed, retirement income that can't decrease....
I probably won't do it again (joint versus AU), but he was nice to do it for me and I don't want to have to have him call the company back. If he never talks to anyone on the phone again, to anyone, he would be ecstatic!.. |

One other downside is that if he decides to take you off, they usually have to close the account and open a new one...

For spouses in a community property state joint or individual has the same liability..
And with joint app often both incomes are verified and this can help with credit limits.. Ask me about NASA FCU LOL.. |
