I also have a hard inquiry on TU after pulling CK this morning..
I just sent them a nasty gram. Hopefully everyone affected will do the same.. I know that CK can fix the problem and recode the credit score pulls as 'softs,' but can they also remove the hard inquiry from my TU report? If not, I guess I'll be doing my first inquiry dispute with a CRA... |

Has it been confirmed that it is an CK issue? I am just really confused as to why the inq wouldnt have shown on my CIDP that was pulled after I pulled CK..

I suppose the irony is that we're getting a hard inquiry while we all use the service primarily to get rid of them. The reality is that the vast majority of CK users probably have no idea they got hit with a hard inquiry today. We're a unique bunch..
Credit Karma is advertised as a service to match offers to a person's credit rating. I used it as such back in July when I got my Discover More card using a link from their site.. I guess I feel the agony of seeing that hard inquiry is enough to make me stop using the service, as advertised or otherwise. I just fired National City today, so I guess I'm in a mood..... |

I log unto TC and see an inquiry in the "alerts." After I updated, the inquiry wasn't there. I'm back to 0 on TU.. I rarely use Karma, and have little need to. Just sucks one of the few times I used it, a hard shows up on the report. At least it appears they fixed it... |

Mine and my husband's hard inquiries are still showing. We didn't email to complain however, so maybe it's a case of the squeeky wheel. You can be sure if those hards aren't gone by tomorrow I'll be writing them!..

I called TransUnion and spoke w/a lady at headquarters yesterday 9/8/08. This was a TU internal software error specfic to CK pulls. They were aware of it and were in the process of correcting all hards to softs. She did say that it could take up to 30 days to show on the bureaus..

Doesn't appear to be b* because older inqs that would drop first are still there.. For those wondering, I've been pulling CK daily ever since this incident without any further problems.. It appears to have been a a one time screw-up on CK and/or TU's part.. That said, though, once my other TU inqs drop, I'll be done with CK for a while. It's not worth the headache!.. |

Mine has been gone for a couple of days, now. Since I *B*-ed my last TU inq right after the problem initially surfaced, I stopped pulling. I don't know what would happen if I pulled again..

Mine was gone for the past 2 days and has been reinserted this morning. Maybe it's time to fire off a letter to TU. Calling/Emailing them and CK is just resulting in finger pointing and promises that it will be fixed. A little over a week is way too long to fix this..

TO my way of thinking, CK has a MUCH larger incentive to get this solved that TU does. Therefore, that is where I have been focusing my attention. Here is the text of my latest email to Kenneth Lin:.
Mr. Lin:. Thank you for the reply. I can appreciate your predicament.. In case it will assist in your discussions with TransUnion, the erroneous inquiry has been deleted and subsequently reappeared several times within the last week. Most recently, it reappeared this morning, after a 2-day absence. I have not logged into Credit Karma since the original problem surfaced, nor do I plan to do so in the future, at least until I have some reasonable assurance that the problem is permanently resolved. For your information, the recurring inquiry continues to be dated 10/07/08.. Sadly, it appears that TransUnion and/or Credit Karma may be unable to resolve this issue in a timely manner. Based on the feedback I have seen from literally hundreds of posters on credit-related message boards, I suspect that many will choose to permanently boycott Credit Karma, as a result. What about sending an e-mail that says something like.
"In addition to the drop my credit score has experienced due to this incorrectly-coded inquiry, it is not unheard of for creditors to take adverse action as result of a new inquiry, and in the current credit climate, I would think that even likelier than usual. If, as a result of this inquiry, I lose a current tradeline and my credit score is even further affected, you can count on hearing from my legal representative. As you know, a lower credit score results in higher APRs on purchases such as houses and cars, so your company's error could potentially cost me thousands of dollars.". Yeah, it's over the top, but it might get yours first on the list to be fixed.. Lol... |

What are people talking about when they write something like this? You posted this message at 1:37PM EST. They don't do the 24 hours + 1 minute or whatever it is that TU-based pullers do. On 3:00 AM EST every morning, they reset to the next day and you can pull again. This is the case every day of the week except Sunday, because the TU systems update from 3:00 AM - 6:00 AM EST that morning. So for Sunday, one can pull any time after 6:00 AM..
So you can pull once at 2:59 AM and then again a minute later and they will count as separate pulls on two consecutive dates... |

Ummm...daily pulls are 24 hours from the last time you pulled. So do the math...if I pulled yesterday around this time...I have to wait till today around this time to pull again. Unless you know of a place that gives you infinite pulls every day, I don't think people are pulling every 2 mins. Besides, I'm asleep when they get around to refreshing..
If you do know someplace, I bet quite a few people around here would be interested. Or do you have a theory on how you can pull "once at 2:59 AM and then again a minute later and they will count as separate pulls on two consecutive dates". And seeing how it's on a tranunion report...odds are that I'm using a transunion puller... |

It is not every 24 hours. It is once a day. You can pull at 11:59 pm pacific time and then again at 12:01am..

So if I wait till nearly midnight...then pull...and again a few minutes later...I would then have to wait 24 hours before pulling again... And the service I'm using is every 24 hours. If I try too early, it lets me know..
Credit Karma is once a day...but that won't tell you anything about the inquiries. So, really, what's the point? I check it anytime during the day I feel like, but look at my inquiries every 24 hours.. Or I can just go to bed at night.... This post has been edited by. With the 24+1 dispute and the 'updates from 3 am - 6 am', are you referring to True Credit, a Tu puller? Because they do force me to abide by 24+1. Are you saying that you can sneak through during those hours? I just wasn't sure if there was a mis-understanding in this thread..

They're just saying the with CK, you can pull once a day. It can be 5 minutes apart (as long as it's two separate days), or 24 hours, it doesn't matter..

My case is the reverse. I had good luck because I was out of town on 10/7 and didn't pull on the 6th, 7th and 8th as a result. That's why I never got the hard. I was wondering why I didn't get a hard. I have been afraid to pull them but it looks like it was just that one day. Anyway, I got my last *B* that I needed for now so I won't be pulling them anymore anyway...

I think one of you is talking about CK pulls that are anytime each day (where the day changes at 3am est midnight pst), the other is talking about other TUI pullers (like TC or PM) which can be used to see if the CK hard is still reporting and that is subject to the 24+1 time limit...

I am on the phone with True Credit and they are giving me the Credit Karma #.
But it was Kenneth's (ceo) phone # :/. So I didn't harass him. He gives a # to the secretary and she said they are working on it and hope to have it resolved by the end of the week and that people should use the support email at credit karma for any other q's.. I hope this helps. Went from TU to True Credit to his personal secretary to find this out... |

I am about to cancel NCIP and Creditsecure as I am down to 0 inq's across the board. I don't know much about CK and I have never used them but other than this issue I am reading about in this thread; is this an okay free service to use for just monitoring?..

Just get a standard credit report or credit monitoring service and look under the inquiries section or "requests for your credit" if you use Experian..
If you see Karma/TUInteracti or TUInteracti (as in Tu Interactive) then you know you received a hard pull from them. Mine was removed today and they are working to resolve every possible account that has this error... |

Do you really think this isn't intentional on TU's part? Lokk at how TC is run. They advertised a service and then cancelled you for using it the way they advertised it. TU is not making much money from CK. They can afford to dump it. They are trying to chase away the people who are costing them money. This is EXACTLY what they did with TC.
The stuff TU gets away with is simply unbelievable.. It's the perfect plan. They now have lots of frustrated customers who will no longer trust CK. They blame is on a "programming" mistake that could clearly be fixed in a day or two. How many days has it been? The long wait is intentional. In the meantime, CK's customers have stopped using the service... |

I have been using National City ID Protect with some success. I did not have any problem with return inq. However I did read recently someone said to stay away from it. I have kept it so time will tell..

I don't know that I would say stay away from it if you like it, but I did have some of my NCIP inquiries purged. It didn't bother me too much because I was down to my last few and CK bumped them all right back off within days of getting chopped...

I really think this was a one day glitch. Looking back, it's apparent that on or about Oct 6 CK changed the coding used when a TU file was pulled. Prior to that, the pull was annotated ". Permissible Purpose: Written Request. ". After that (through to last week), the pull is annotated ". Consumer Request. ". (As indicated on consumer disclosure date 10/15.. One other thing changed at that time. Prior pulls identified the puller as CREDITKARMA via CREDIT KARMA INC. The puller now is KARMA/TRANSUNION INTERAC.. There may be certain inferences to be drawn about the implications of that... |

My inq has been gone, but I cannot pull from them anymore. It give me a "credit error" whatever that means...

I was down to 0 hard on TU - and now this one. Lawsuit time. I think TU actually "Likes" lawsuits. They seem to be doing everything they can to make people's credit ratings hurt...
