Got a question, hope someone can answer... How long does it take for you to get a visa or Discover Card? Looking forward for any answer. My other question... I offered a PFD back in November, which they told me I needed to deal with their CA..

So I forwarded them the same letter I forwarded FP didn't hear a peep out of them. E-mailed the Ceo of the CA (I really wanted this off my reports, If I can get this off my report my EQ is clean other than my Bankruptcy from 2002. Couldn't find any middle management)and said I was willing to work on a settlement with this account and he e-mailed me back Sunday (the day I e-mailed him) and said he'd check into it when he got back to his office..

Still not a word. No letters nothing..

Oh well guess FP doesn't want to get paid. It's only been 2years since CO and well within SOL here for WI. The balance isn't that much but still. And yes, I have tried disputing it off my reports, comes back verified. It's reporting correctly as far as I can tell..

The company, thankfully isn't reporting on my Cra's that's at least one small thing to be thankful for...

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you an answer..

Yeah.. I'm gonna wait till Monday. Even tho it's 3pm where they are. It's Friday so they may have already checked out for the day..

They could just be waiting for a decision from FP too.. but at least they could tell me and not keep me in limbo. I do have the money in savings but still lol...

Or the CEO checked, saw it was in SOL and decided to sue you for annoying him. Pushing with in SOL debt is dangerious..

I dont see why they would have the need to sue when she's trying to work with them...

Nope as I said.. haven't heard a peep. If they were going to sue me, I would have gotten an letter already, and I haven't. Hell I never gotten a dunning letter. When I offered my settlement, was the first time I heard of the CA..

And we're not talking big bucks here..

As Jack said, I don't see why they would sue because I AM trying to work with them..

My ex-wife works in collections and has for several years. I thought about working in collections until I went in and listened to a few calls on the floor. The attitude was really amazing. The people who succeed in that business don't give a damn about working with you. They don't have time for it. They just want you to pay them and shut the hell up..

PFD's mean work. They have to get manager approval..then draft the letter..then run it by legal...then get manager approval again..then go fill out whatever form it takes to get the TL deleted once your money comes in. Once that happens do they get a "nice job, you got the money?" Nope. They get "Nice job, you let another credit terrorist get the best of you.".

In the time it takes to do all the crap that they have to do to get PFD approval, they could have harrassed 3 old ladies about their dead husbands credit cards. Much easier money...

That's CSR's tho..

We're talking CEO's which they can approve or disprove the settlement offer. They don't have to go back to "manager" to get the approval, though they still may have to go to legal..

I'll just wait till Tuesday and see if we're just waiting for FP to respond or where we are. I'd really like to get this taken care of...

CEO is just going to bounce it down the chain and tell someone in middle management to deal with it and make sure it doesn't get back to his desk..heh. Hopefully the person it bounces down to feels like doing his job and making the company a little money...

Probably.. I'd still like to see where we stand. I offered to pay the balance owed minus interest/fees which is actually about 250 from the original 391 they had on my credit report. Which is why I also don't see them taking this to court...

Damn, beli, I wish you would have posted this sooner! I sent an email to CO regarding a 2 yo C/O with a decent balance and it's been a week. No word whatsoever. We only ever got one letter from NCO to which we replied and asked if they had the auth to settle and NEVER heard from them or CO again.....

I'm a little nervous. Now I wish I wouldn't have offered to pay the whole thing! I should have try to settle minus the $900 with interest and fees......

Its best to offer a 100% pfd. Especially with FP who arent particularly known to acqueisce. Let alone negotiate..

No biggie. But after you hear from, if required, offer a 100%...

Actually I did when I first sent the PFD out.. what I found funny was I had already sent the PFD out to whom FP told me to forward it to they weren't willing to work with me personally, I'd had to go through the CA but they assured me it wasn't sold only assigned. In the meantime Nco started calling me. I sent them a LC&D and specifically asked if they had authorization over this account, and they sent another letter back stating they were going to close the account, and I should refer back to the creditor, however they listed the creditor as the CA that's handling the FP account not Fp themselves, which I believe is a violation. As long as Nco stays off my credit report i'll be happy the minute they do, I'll just forward everything I have to my lawyer..

After talking with FP a couple times, I knew they didn't give NCO the account they flat out said it's not one of their normal collection agencies, and again reiterated who actually had my account. So time between settlement offer the Ca must have assigned it to Nco to try and collect even though they already had a settlement offer from me..

Maybe that's another reason why I haven't heard back from the CEO is because they're trying to figure out who actually has this account, them or Nco..

Hmm interesting. I think CO still has ours because it's accruing interest ridiculously..

Hopefully you get an answer soon...

So far they haven't added any interest to my account only late fees probably from my guess on the balance. I've talked to FP a few times just to make sure the balance hasn't gone up but they still refuse to work with me, only through the CA. As long as it's assigned I have no problem paying (with Discover card) the Ca since I know it will ultimately go back to FP...
