My first question is How do you draw a contract up for a Lending Tree mortgage? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question on my mind: I just got off the phone with a rep. She said they are not going to report to Equifax or Transunion anymore. They are only reporting to Experian but of course they have all disappeared. She is supposed to add mine back on..

She also said they will not be updating the Equifax listings anymore. They will stay as they are until it's time to remove them. They are not going to remove them I guess. She said it will stay 5-7 years, of course they don't know it's 10 years if it's a positive tradelines. I wonder if you can dispute them off? I didn't think to ask that. I guess they will no longer be verifying then too?.

I asked her "why"? She said this is something the company has just decided to do. I'd really like to know the real reason why!.

So I guess you are in luck if you have bad student loans on TU or Exp. It really sucks if you lose 7 old installment tradelines that have been there for over 6 years! And will never be updated or put back on...

Wow! I can understand it though. They were not able to get TU to report their trade-lines correctly. I know I had to send them (SM) 2 intent-to-sue letters (with filled out court info). I'd bet I wasn't the only one.....

If accounts are to stay on your report for 7 yrs, why would she say that they would be removed in 5-7 yrs? True, positive tradelines stay on for 10 yrs, but every negaive account stays on for a total of 7yrs. I'm confused. As all of my SM accts DOL are 12/98, and the statuses are ACCT XFR/SOLD / ASSIGNED TO GOV'T b/c I consolidated them w/ US DPT of ED...

Interestingly enough, mine fell off Experian. I don't mind at all since this is a rehabilitated Lending Tree loan that was "verified" after I disputed. It was scheduled to fall off 8/2004..

Coincidently, I'm sending my dispute to EQ today, so we'll see what happens..

Degoratory accounts can only stay on your credit report for 5 years IF you live in the state of NY ONLY. Other states, as far as I know, 7 years. Positive accounts upto 10 years..

I don't know anything about rehab or consolidation, sorry...

They only stay on your report for five years in NYS if they are paid chargeoff, collections, liens or judgments. They must be paid. Accounts with latenesses only are not included. You can find it in McKinneys. I'm sorry I don't have the section number but if you look under Fair Credit Reporting Act you'll see it...

Well I just got my TU report and it said that the SM TL was "suppresed pending credit grantors update"..

I had one late from 10/2000, I guess i'm happy. I just wanted the late removed..

I sent a goodwill letter to SM asking them to update my CR to get ride of the late notations. They sent me a letter telling me to send them copys of my CR's. I really hadn't given it a second thought after all these SM reporting problems started. I guess I will send them in and hope they just update them to paid/never late. Has anyone ever recieved a letter like that? I would be interested to see if the GW letter really worked..

But upon checking my TU CR I found a CA TL, oh well one more thing I have to take care of!!!.
