First of all How do you check your Chase Discover Card reward points? Thanks in advance for any comment. Another question... I sent off a FOIA request recently to obtain any and all complaints on MCM. Low and behold MCM was not licensed in Michigan for over four years. Midland Funding withdrew it's license on 05/21/07 and did not re instate it until 10/22/2009 so they were not licensed for over two years. I know they are the same company BUT the FDCPA states they must collect in their true name. |

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably know..

Thanks for the info Linx04. I'm in the state of Florida and they're not registered here at all. So do I need to send a complaint to the MI AG also? I'm sending one to my AG and they're corporate ofc. I would love to get them off my EQ CR so I can finally reach 700!.
Thanks,. 239Dyme in Florida.. |

No, you would send one to the California AG as that is where their HQ is. CA and Florida..

How do you word your complant to AG, I have too midland accounts on my cr, they are both paid, but I do want them off...

Or could I good well Midland stating that they were not licensed in michigan during the time they were collecting from me, asking them to delete the accounts from my reports. Thanks..

Write to the AG stating exactly that they were attempting to collect when they were not licensed. Pull all the info off the Michigan DLEG website showing they were not licensed and I am assuming there is a violation somewhere in the TL. IMHO collecting while they are not licensed in the SOM is a violation of the FDCPA. I know it is a violation of Michigan Law...
