Got a quick question: How do I succeed at becoming a Lending Tree mortgage broker in Toronto? Hoping for any answer. Another question I got... If you been following my saga...I had every derog removed and was able to get a great Lending Tree mortgage last month. So just for kicks I thought I'd go ahead and get a better cc to do a bt to get rid of my high interest rate providian cards. I get the rejection letter!.

Why?....recent collections! Im like wtf?? I have zero derogs on all reports. So I pull my experian..

What do you know...2 new collections. One was where gulf state deleted and then reinserted with a new ca name. The other is for a $10 medical balance. I got the bill for 10 bucks, called them up and paid it right away. the lady said no it wont be reported on any reports at this point. Well...there it is.

She says she'll take care of it within a few weeks. What is going on??? There was like a two week window where I had perfect credit...Im so glad I closed on the house in that very tiny window of opportunity..

At this point should I contact the ca, they are a local ca a few blocks away. Should I fax a nutcase like letter today? or should I just wait and see if this billing lady can sort it out. Since they are local I am going to threaten them with small claims court..

The other is the whole gulf state deleting and the putting it back on as sherman acqusitions. I disputed that one online last night. I may get in on the class action going on with them. We'll see what happens..

Nothing was inserted back on TU and I've not check equifax as of yet. These 2 were on experian..

Im so mad! It really is a system that works against the consumer. Its like these people have a free-for-all with our credit reports and the average person has to dedicate all there time trying to keep things half way right..

I guess overall I am happy...I did get a new house without much trouble which was the goal, but man! this is irking me. Now it's a matter of principle and a simply deletion wont make it right...

Congrats on the mortgage. Wish I could get even a one week window :(..

Seems like this is the latest of Gulf States tricks, from what I have been reading. Luckily, I am not dealing with them right nowknocking on wood...

I have the ca letter for the medical one right here. it is dated on the letter as 10/22, I called and paid 10/29. It says that it was scheduled to be reported as an unpaid collection. I got it and paid it right away. Is there supposed to be some kind of timeframe? It was scheduled to be reported, I called and paid it. why was it not 'unscheduled'?..

Many times, lack of communication is the problem. Sometimes, if you put your "nice" hat on, you can talk with the medical people and have them correct what has resulted from this lack of communication. Call them, or better yet, go down there and speak with the billing person. Show her on your cr where they are showing up, show her the CA letter and show her that you paid. I think you have 30 days from receiving the first letter (assuming this is the first) to either pay or dispute without it showing up on cr. Anyhow, tell her it is a big misunderstanding and that you did pay it.

Tell her you were told they "would take care of it" but, you would like a cancellation letter to forward yourself because it removes things quicker. SHE doesn't know you just bought a house. Tell her you are closing on your house and this $10 thing will be a problem. Just some ideas..

I contacted an oc re: a paid collection. Had the "nice" hat on and she issues cancellationletter on the spot. Good luck!.

I just talked to CA lady. She says that I paid it well within the 30 days. She had a hard time believing that it was on my credit report. She says they dont even report on amounts that small (it was $10). I assured her that there is a paid collection for $10 on my experian report. She seemed baffled.

What a mess! it never ends...

Actually, it's against the law for a CRA reinsert something they've previously deleted without notifying you..

Basically, they deleted these items and sent you a letter to confirm they've deleted them, right? Well, they needed to send you a letter within 5 days of reinsertion. If you didn't get anything from them, then they're in violation...
