Quick question: How do I check out Discover Card exchange rate used when I shop online? Thanks for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... My wife is a twin with similar name. We are trying to get a mortgage, but USAA is reporting there are six disputes on her credit report which is an automatic disqualification. What is going on is her twin has disputed the accounts that are actually hers. Does anyone have any advice on how to get Equifax to split her twin's SSN from her report?. |

Good question... I dunno what is the answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I got an good answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably know..

You have to do "Not mine" disputes with equifax. Do it in writing, not online or via telephone. Handwrite it on funky colored paper so the explanation has to be read by an actual person, not just scanned into a database...

Sonicanatidae,.
Do you have a suggestion for which number to use? I have seen these three listed other places on the creditboards? Thanks again.. 800-493-1058. 800-208-9232. (800)685-1111.. |

Jtoast, it is not the accounts, it is the disputes from her sister that is causing the trouble...

Really any number should work, considering how much of a slam dunk this is..
If they get difficult, politely thank them for their time, then start down the CMRRR. Path Jtoast is talking about. The only reason I suggest calling them is this really. Should be a simple issue to resolve. I would also consider stating that this is not. Fraud, but a simple mistaken ID issue either during your conversation or in your. Letters or the bureaus will slam fraud alerts on your reports.. FAs can be removed fairly easily, but why hassle with it if you dont have to?.. |

I've had really bad luck with Equifax over the phone although a big part of that is because I have to deal with CSC and not equifax directly. I always just skip the phone with them. Hopefully you will have better luck...

Luckily, in this case, the worst a phone call could do is waste a few minutes of time,.
But generally speaking, I've had the same "luck" and also do things via paperwork.. Since these accounts legitimately arent the OP's DW's, they should melt like butter.. If they dont, it should be fairly easily to prove the reports got mixed/merged. Considering your DW is actually a different person.. Making EQ believe it is the issue..lol.. |

Yes.. sorry for the acronym..
What sucks about needless Fraud Alerts is the bureaus will infect. Each other with the FA, so you'll have them on all 3 in no time.. Removal is easy tho, just make sure you mail all 3 bureaus at once. Or they will start re-infecting each other again and again, ad nauseam... |

YEP.
FRAUD ALERT. CRA's ARE WELL KNOWN FOR ADDING THEM WITH-OUT WRITTEN or VERBAL PERMISSION.. |
