Question I have... How can I put Money in a Prepaid Discover Card? Thanks in advance for any response. Another question... Quick Story:. |

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you an answer..

If Discover was who got the judgment, they retain PP for collection purposes. And yes, given the length in which judgments can live on, they will continue to see if anything exists upon which to jump on. Post-judgment interest adds up in a hurry.....

AR's or PRM???.
Sorry Hege, I don't follow.. Centex, I know that my past with them gives them PP to place softs. But you state that they are looking for "something to jump on", what do you mean by this???. Thanks to you both!.. |

"account reviews".
"promotional" (meaning your credit report is being screened for a "pre-screened" offer of credit).. |
|
If they sued you and hold a judgment, then you can expect the writ of execution to come when they believe they stand to collect on that judgment, complete with the post-judgment interest amounts (the clock that keeps ticking until the judgment is paid)...

I could be wrong. But, I think centex is saying that Discover is looking for any type of assets they could go after to satisfy the judgement..
Am I wrong, centex?.. |
|
Nope, you are not wrong. What OP is describing sounds precisely like asset searches, albeit at the most basic of levels...

Thats where you start, though. When my parents call me because their home theater is not working, I always ask, "is the device plugged in?" Start simple, then work your way up..
Are you judegement proof OP?. Like centex said, they could perform a writ of execution and take money from your bank accounts. Sounds like check cashing stores, straight cash, might be the way to go. Until you get the judgement erased, not just off your reports.. If you have been adding new TL's they will keep pulling, maybe even switch to hards...... This post has been edited by. Centex, thank you for the clarification and I appreciate your insight as always. I was unaware of the defaulted judgement at the time due to the summons being sent to an old address. I know that doesn't excuse me from the debt I owe. I also know I owe the ~$2300, but don't have it right now to spare. So is there anything I can do to work something out with the attorney in question or just wait until I do have it to spare at once?..
