My 1st question is: How can I get a phone number for Discover Card corporation? Thanks for any comment. Second question of mine... Every time we use our credit card, we are exposed to anything. We are vulnerable to fraud, whether we pay online, over the phone, or even in person at our neighborhood grocery store. Everyday there will always be a victim of this big business. How many of us here have been a victim?. |

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you an answer..

Someone spent about $1K on sneakers and truck parts about 3 months after I visited the city where the fraud took place. By the way, it was a Crapital One card, they called me the same day the charges went through, sent me the Fraud Affidavit, filled it out, returned it, done...

A few years ago, I received both a call and an email from Citi saying that someone was trying to use my card number to put through a rather large transaction at a store in Virginia.and I live in Wisconsin. The person was in-store, claimed they "forgot" their card but had the number. The charge never went through but I, too, give kudos to Citi for being on top of things. They closed my account and issued a new card/number. As I recall, I believe the guy turned out to be a waiter at a local restaurant who had written down a number of Discover credit card #s. To be honest, I don't know what happened to him. I had other things going on at the time so I didn't follow it too closely...

Been a victim...ever vigilant since that time. Recovering from $200K in losses that appear on the reports is not and was not a fun task....
Mine occurred primarily through mailbox pilfering and during a period of time in which I was very much on a cash basis (well, check and debit card). It was an era when rewards were nowhere near as common as they are now and there was less incentive to be a rewards whore..... |
