The donkeys of Santorini

The famous Santorini sunset

The red beach

Another sunset

A boat tour took us to the volcano and for a swim in the volcanic hot springs

It looks like snow on a mountaintop but it’s actually a city on a cliff

The color of the water is hard to describe

On top of the volcano

Donkey ride

Glad the donkey is making this climb and not me

Inspiring scenery

More of the same

Sunset at the marina on Naxos

A hike on Naxos led us to some cool discoveries

Our drive through the mountains was equally as awesome

An old windmill

Nice pictures. – No wonder the Greeks want to retire so early. They have to enjoy the scenery just as much as tourists have to.;-)

I have very similar amazing pictures from Santorini (and a picture of the “HOMER” boat in Firostefani). I stayed in Firostefani and loved it! Santorini is absolutely beautiful and maybe slighly overpriced in my opinion. Your pictures just took me back to a happy happy place from Greece 3 months ago! Kos, Santorini, Athens!!

I think your total $$ is very reasonable. I ended up spending close to $4000 (went alone), backpacking for 2 weeks through greece and turkey. Of course my airfare alone more than tripled yours, and I went in peak season.

Going back to look at your pictures again! Any buddy passes for sale? haha!

I also did the sailboat thing to the volcano and hiked to the top but did not pack flip flops..watching the sunset was absolutely amazing.. haha and yes, I live in Minneapolis too!

Very spectacular! Your bottom line numbers certainly sound great. I just read “Getting to Greece,” so I know you earned at least some of that discount in some anxiety exchange. Looking forward to hearing more!
