After biking home from work last night (49 minutes versus 58 in the morning – for those of you keeping track) I got cleaned up and headed over to the mall to meet Bird for a date night.
We went to California Pizza Kitchen where I was hoping to win $50,000 in a promo they were running but instead we got 10% off our pizzas but that’s better than nothing. We paid $35 including tip for our dinner. I think CPK might be one of our favorite pizza places.
After dinner we browsed through Macy’s but we didn’t really have enough time to do any registry stuff. We basically just looked at sunglasses for about five minutes but I didn’t see anything that I loved. Bird also checked out the shoe section because she is looking for shoes for the wedding. I think she wants gold ones.
To finish off the night, we went to Star Trek. Tickets were $10 each. Total spent: $20. We didn’t do snacks or anything because we had just had dinner.
The movie was awesome. We loved it and we’re definitely not Trekkies. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a full episode of the show. The theater was really full and the guys behind us were definitely Trekkies. They seemed to get a little more out of the film than we did (laughing at some inside jokes or whispering to each other when new characters were introduced). We think a few things might have gone over our heads but for most part I just watched it like it was any other action movie and it held it’s own. JJ Abrams knows how to entertain. Now if I could just get caught up with LOST.
So I spent $55 on our Friday night date night. Not terrible. And hopefully that will be the only spending for the weekend. Take that back, we’ll probably go out to lunch after church on Sunday.
But that should be it.
