Got a question... Does the cashbuilder Discover Card help build credit rating? Hoping for any answer. Second question of mine... I posted in Mortgage forum and they said to also post here to get the most experts..

Here is where I stand:.

1. OLD Capital one account with balance of 1612 that has been charged off, however I plan to settle.

2. OLD Some Discover credit card Arrow is collecting on with a balance of $2313, OC isnt even reporting anymore, plan to settle.

3. Current First premier with $208 balance on $300 limit.

4. Current First Premier with $175 balance on $250 limit.

4. Current GE Services with $1683 balance on $2000 limit. This account was closed by GE for some reason..

5. jared $264 balance on $1500 limit.

6. Target $192 balance on $200 limit.

7. Finger hut $30 balance on $200 limit (just increased).

8. kay $468 balance on $1500 limit.

I plan on spending b/t $500 - $1000 on paying (with Discover card) down my current balances then another $1500 or so settling with old Capital one and Old Arrow..

I wasnt sure if I should pay off First premier or leave a $20 balance..

What area should I focus on to improve my scores the most. My TU is almost there right now, however EQ and EXP are 70-90 pts behind..

I'm in the middle of a dispute with EXP right now, hopefully I'll receive some love.... :-).

Everything is current for the past 2 years except for a stupid utility bill I forgot to pay..

I should have enough for a 3.5% down payment in the next month or so, I just need to pay these guys off to see what it does to my scores....

What is the best method?..

Well the consensus is to pay off FP and target, I might as well pay off fingerhut as I only owe $30 then use as much as I can towards GE Services.........
