Got a question, hope someone can answer... Does anyone have an imagine gold Discover Card and what are the monthly payments? Thanks for any answer. Second question.. I haven't used my Capital One card much at all since I got Discover. |

Of course! however you might want to make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm this as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you call the Discover Card guys because they can answer you better...

I know that things have tightened up, but did you use one of the magic numbers listed on here? Or just the CS number on the card? I want to say to do a search on Magic Number to find it. Too tired and worn down with this cold to think straight, but it is basically a retention number that has been floating around on here for a couple of years now. Some people, myself included have had luck with calling them and asking, but in my case, that was a couple of years ago, before the economy issues started..
Time to crash for the night.. Cadman.. |

I called cs a couple weeks ago for an increase on my $850 limit and got a different answer "we're not doing cli at this time"... I am about to just cancel them, I just have to see about the aging issue on the card, since I've had it for a while...

Cap 1 does not accept customer initiated CLIs.
Ironic that I, as their customer, dont accept lender initiated bull#$%. For their poor money mgmt and have sock drawered them until they. Raise my limit... |

I called CapOne (Canada) back in November. My intention was to cancel the card because of it's $59 AF (or was it $49?) and the relatively low limit of $2000 compared to the other cards I've gotten since..
He gave me the big sob story about how they helped me revitalize my credit and allowed me to grow and they wanted me as a client. I told him "...and I am thankful and I appreciate that you took me on when nobody else would. You indeed helped me grow...but you need to grow with me". He said they do periodic reviews and it looks like I'm up for one this January and I would likely get a good size CLI. He waived the AF, so it wasn't a complete waste of time to call. I'll hang onto it for another year. He told me to call again next November to ask to have the AF waived again, but I should be prepared to have my request denied as they typically only waive if once.. Still waiting for the CLI and we're almost thru January. In hindsight, I knew he was bullshitting me because in the meantime I've come to find out that $2k is the maximum limit on their Gold card. I'm not applying for a better CapOne card because they have nothing to offer that I want. The card sits in my nightstand and is only used for purchases from smaller, lesser known, online merchants every few months. If CapOne doesn't knock my socks off with some sort of offer before November 2010 then they're history in my books (even if they waive the AF again).. I'm with you on that Stu. I have had my card for 7 years, not a single late. Card is sitting at $1050. Have called every month, for like 6 straight, asking for a CLI.
NADA.. Will probably close it at AF time (August or September I believe) if I don't see a CLI by then. I use my card every month, I don't PIF (it's actually my lowest interest rate)!.. |

Its empowering once you realize you dont *NEED* a lender isnt it?.
Dont get me wrong, I dont advocate rampant closure, but if a lender. Is being hardheaded or starts scammy practices (CHASE mortgage scam),. Then you kick them to the sock drawer or the curb and go on.... These days, I LOVE telling a lender to have a coke and a smile and STFU. Why? Because their actions over the past year or 2 warrant some derision. And I'm finally in a place where I can start handing some of that back to them..
