Thats pretty much what I was thinking too.
(Makes you wonder if some bozo tries to contact TU to make them aware of this thinking they are stymieing the cause) TU makes quite a bit of additional money through this in more way than one, for starters they get to continue to skimp by using their antiquated system, and second off additional sales of those who seek out creditors who exclusively use TU. Transunion couldnt even manage to auto-renew my 3-in-1 credit pulls as they were supposed to do..... theres no way they could do anything SOPHISTICATED.
The guy from INDIA said "it couldnt recognize your credit card. No wait... it wasnt your credit card. I will cancel your closed account and reopen a new account.". How can it be because of my card but not my cards problem? How can you cancel a closed account?? Does he know his "A" from his head? Does he know his right from his left??. I pulled TrueCredit everyday for like a month - and since June22nd, it hasn't been updating when I tell it to... my report/scores are still telling me "June 22nd" - did I get *booted* for trying to *B too much?..

Just what they need to concentrate on. When I paid to pull by TU through MyFico yesterday, my report showed only two TLs... this happens occasionally, then it gets put back together. I want my $12.76 back..

Yup. I had him fully cancel it - as in, cancel the order I already had. Then I went into my account online and changed my CC#... once I did that I did a new order and it FINALLY worked..
Whats funny is I have DH and my TC on my cc. they were able to charge it for his but not mine so I set mine up with a new cc... |

Congratulations! You are one of the lucky 40 people out of 500,000 that the renewal payment didn't go through correctly! If you call and talk to someone in India, they will finally tell you after talking to you for 30 minutes, that your account has been put on hold because you pulled to much, and yes, as this is something that is allowed, they still think it is suspicious. (I wish I had recorded that call.) Then they will later write about how your payment really didn't go through...

Yeah, I also heard that Juny letting everyone have more then two cards, and Amex is going to give back all the Credit lines they took from the people they FR'ed and reopen with big Cli and say Sorry.
And the big news is, EX will now really investigate all disputes sent to them. Wow things are looking up!.. |

Wait!!! That soooo explains how the charge went through for my husbands account and not mine on the same card. I only pull his report 1-2x's a month but pull mine daily. But I was able to update it by changing my card on the website and ordering the product again. I dont care about b*... I have fraudulent crap on my account and need to monitor it...

I had the same problem with PM123 for a couple months-I would pull a report and it would still have the date of the last report I pulled with that same old info. Then I would try again and it said No, you have already pulled in the last 24 hours..
For example, say 5/1 I pulled a report. Then 5/8 I pull another one. It says 5/1 with 5/1's info, and won't let me pull again. So now, I go to pull again 5/14. Suddenly, lo and behold, the report now says 5/8 and has 5/8's info and I can't see 5/14's stuff. Then 5/17 I pull and the report is now dated 5/14 and so on..... What I figured out was that I had to pull, log out, then log BACK in and view the report. Then suddenly it was dated correctly with updated info. I don't know if it's the same problem you're having, but this worked for me and may be worth a shot... |

I bumped every inq off TU from about 30. How could they put the inqs back on? If they could keep them still why would they bump off my report anyway?..

I am an IT Architect for System z (what we now call the mainframe). Not much chance, but possible if there was some valid business need (like a business partner wanting better/cleaner data) or some mandatory legal compliance issue. I doubt they would do it just to have correct records for the purity/ethics- LOL. I have been on several 'business opportunities" calls with CRAs over the years. They don't collect our private data just to be nice. They sell it.
That is their business model. Something like this would have had to been in the works for months. Probably talked about for years, since is obliviously is a known problem with their database. Even if that were true, the best they could do would be to eliminate future B*. I think creditors would be more concerned with the baddies on one's report, not so much the number of inquiries (unless the report has multiple inquiries & baddies). I can't see how fixing this issue would be a business need. The ones who b* represent such a small group...

Anyway, I dont get how could they "fix" the system an inq is an inq, soft or hard, so how you gonna delete inqs? and then how you gonna put some of them back on? that is just stupid.
Also isnt "bumpage" a word we kinda made up? I cant see TU using that word. maybe bumping, but not bumpage. Having said that, I do think there is a LOT of obsessing about *b* by us. probably a bit disproportionate, but I dont know. And having said that, I think this post is from the flower sender.. While there is little remaining doubt that the OP was yaking some chains, do not underestimate the number of personnel with the bureaus and lenders that read the boards. As long as the term has been in use (I don't know if it originated here or elsewhere but I know it was in heavy use by the time I got here four years ago), it stands to reason that people outside of the boards know the term. I can tell you without reservation that the term is known to the upper levels at Equifax, to include their General Counsel's office....
Remember that there is still a feeling among some that it was calls from consumers asking about 'the trick' that led to the Great Massacre of April 1st with regard to the use of PG a few years back..... |

This person sure has ALOT of power over this board. They come here and post ONE time and sit back to watch the chaos and mayhem that they created so easily. Over 115 posts and 3669 views later (and still counting) and it's still going strong and hanging in the Top 10. Im pretty sure this is what they intended to accomplish (nothing more).... and they were very successful...

My hubby's TU went from 2 inq's to 16 a few minutes ago. They are all old that have shown up. I tend to believe it's true...

Well, doesn't matter what happens, this doesn't hurt me in the slightest. I've only got a 2 year credit history and I won't be applying for anything at all for at least 15 months. That still only leaves me with 8 inquiries by then, only 1 of which are on TU.
To tell you the truth, I've already been considering cancelling CCT because it's just not worth it. They'll age off in time anyway. So, thanks to the OP for helping me make up my mind! I won't be giving TU any service via CCT after today. Edit: I still don't think any of this is real anyway, but really, it just makes me realize how much of a waste it is for me to use CCT at this point.. Looks like they're still working on it. Yesterday all my pulls from EX/CIC/CCT were gone. Today it shows only one, the most recent. That's the only thing showing today besides creditor ARs...

/rant. Like many others, I wish TU would have stopped/prevented the unmentionable in the first place, rather than execute this bass-ackwards stupdity.. It's not fraud, and it's not unethical to get the unmentionable - it happens whether you're looking for it or not. TU should have fixed their own problems a long time ago - none of this is the consumers' fault.. I monitor daily, because I'm paranoid about keeping an eye on my reports*. I keep CS because I don't trust TC to not pull the plug on me. I keep TC because I like the info and format far better. * and it seems I HAVE to pull daily to know about changes - 'cuz wouldn't you know, I haven't gotten an alert from TC yet about the new LLBean inq., even though it's on my report.. URGH TU inq went from 4 to 36. Most of my B* inquiries are back. Unfortunatly I have noticed they all havent come back, maybe some more will be added later. Oh well I have used it successfully for some time now and just went on a spree. I guess I will just let everything age now. Hmm what will I do with all the extra $$ that I once used on TC, PM.....

Being able to update your report five times a day is pretty handy, especially to see who a creditor pulled. It's a little steep but at least they won't cut you off for "manipulating the credit scoring system" by using the service as advertised...

You must re-register your card I think. I remember some others were having this problem also. A little searching should yield results..

Was using only CS and PM products for the last 1+ month. Haven't looked at the softs since I purchased the EQ report in June, so I don't know which softs are being chopped, but b* is about a week late again now.....

I pull solely using Chaseid. It seems Equifax only shows the last two months of pulls from that service and not all of those either...

I was using ChaseID until over a month ago. I couldn't tolerate the new design and I suspected them enacting choppage, so I cut them off. But I'm not sure about that now, unless they are still messing with my file even after the cancellation. But that is unlikely.....

I'd like an opinion on this- I pulled tc,cct and ck then cancelled tc about a month before people began to see negative effects of daily pulls. I now pull ck,cct and creditsecure. If I dispute an item on my credit report do you think it will trigger previously absent information? My dispute is minor an incorrect cl, an account named incorectley as type of account (this isn't minor) and old 30 days (back in 04). If it triggers any activity I am thinking about waiting 6 months so that if activity returns the hit won't be as hard? thoughts..

What "negative effects of daily pulls" are you speaking of? I wouldn't call it negative effects so to speak. Just a PITA. And mainly dealing with b* of inqs. Dispute what you need to. There shouldn't be any "negative effects" that need to be more of a concern than correcting wrong info on your reports. Those hurt more than any negative effect inqs have...

True Credit and Privacy Matters are the major ones, I think there are a few others..
Disclaimer: This is my theory on what they're doing, nothing posted in this paragraph should be taken as fact. If you subscribe to a TUI service TU is chopping softs. They are retrieving TU inquiries from TUI and sticking them back on your report. They can't chop softs from other services since that would have FCRA implications. To get the action that shall not be named you need to subscribe to non-TUI services and not use anything ran by TUI. Again, just my theory. I did see them chop the TUI softs though, that is a fact... |

I currently have 0 on TU. I think I was up to about 6 or so at one time but my latest TU pull was last September. I used TC from May through October and Privacy Matters from December last through May. I have been pulling ChaseID solely from May till now. Did I dump PM in time or is there still a possibility I still get roped? Been a month now and still at 0...

Some have reported the same inquiry popping on and off their report while using a TUI service. I'm convinced of what I posted, I just can't prove it...

Hard to tell. Some never had any inquiries reinserted. In my case they reinserted two from August 2006 that would have been gone this month anyhow. They missed several others that were more recent. They can't mess with soft inquiries from other services. I saw them start to but then those softs were put back. Maybe their counsel told them it wasn't a good idea...
