Quick question: Discover Card or Visa in Guatemala? Which is better, or it doesn't matter? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. Another question I got... I'm sitting here watching a movie and this thought just came to me out of nowhere..

You know those websites that do a soft pull to see if you pre-qualify for a credit card? I can't find the original thread right now but I remember seeing it here on CB. Anyway, if you find one that pulls one specific bureau, couldn't you just apply for the same thing over and over until you get B*?.

Granted, it would be super time consuming, but when the softs add up, wouldn't they begin to B*?.

Again, not the most efficient method, but do you think it would work?.

OK. Let me have it.....

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you an answer..

Though very amusing, your responses don't actually address the question..

Yeeeeah, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and let me know about that..

If you could just TRY to go ahead and do that, that would be greeeeat...

Prequal idea will work as well as that Superman 3 plan. Better write out a check for 4 subscriptions (CCT, MPM, CS, USAA-CCMP)..

Most card sites have them, like capital one and a few others will pre-qualify you and don't put a hard on your report...

Recent research indicates that coded inquiries (such as promotional and account review inquiries) don't factor in for B* so this method probably won't work...

Sorry to say it won't help with B*. Believe me, I tried. I have a couple dozen or so on my EQ report from HSBC's pre-approval website if anyone would like them..

Incidentally, Capital One, Amex, and Bank of America don't even perform a soft inquiry on a credit report when you use their pre-qualified/pre-approval website form. They only check against their internal records to see if you have a pre-qualified/pre-approved offer waiting from any recent promotional inqs they may have made on one of your credit reports...

Interesting tidbit here. I got b*this morning on EQ. I am not even sure of the number of softs as they are all over the place. I pull the HSBC, USAA, and MPM daily..

Yesterday I have 3 on EQ..

This morning I pull and in this order..

HSBC Preselector.

Then I pull USAA and I am from 3 down to 1. (B* on 2, could it be from HSBC and USAA?).

I pull an EQ report (like doing a dispute) and my last one was gone, so now at 0 all in one morning..

These were from 11/23, 11/24, and 11/27...

Just a guess, when you made your last pull yesterday one was bumped off but you did not see it until you pulled HSBC today. When you pulled HSBC you seen the one bumped from yesterday and also bumped your second one off. You did not see that until you pulled USAA, so on and so on. I am sure Dr Tang or his assistant will be by to let us know...
