I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably can answer it..

Comcast/TWC are very workable entities..
The key is, IMHO, not to pour out the entire story in an email, particularly the initial communications. You wanna get someone;s ear, and approach it from a customer service standpoint... |

I found an email address for an exec (think ceo maybe) online today at comcast so sent this message....
Dear Mr. Roberts,. I have been working very hard to repair my credit for a long while now and am happy to say I have all my past debt paid off, including debt with Comcast (Paid to Credit Protection Association, account number XXXXXXXXXXX, paid roughly 2 years ago).. I had Comcast service for roughly 4 years never missing a payment. My family and I moved to a new home. Roughly 6 months after moving to our new house I get a collection letter from Credit Protection Association saying I have a debt with Comcast. I called Comcast to confirm the debt, they said it was valid. I called and paid the full amount to the collection agency. At the time I did not realize anything was being reported to the credit bureaus and figured if it was payed off would remove the account. I am trying to get a mortgage and my credit score is right on the edge of qualifying. I am very hopeful you can help me out and have this removed from my credit reports. I appreciate your time and look forward to receiving a favorable decision from you soon.. Thank you!. I sent this morning, I jumped into the shower and when I got out I saw a missed call/vm on my cel phone. It was from comcast corporate offices saying they received my message and will give me a call back monday.. Was pretty surprised to get that message so quickly.. so hopefully it will be worked out.. Work with what you have..
I would have told you NOT to send it to the CEO; they re-route those anyway. Also, the way you worded it gives them an out: the infamous "we must report/it's out of our hands" excuse.. Be prepared to talk to them on the phone, and be willing to be very persuasive. Best wishes!.. |

Well if it does not work I will continue to send letters, you have a link to your method?..

Got a call from comcast corporate offices, they are sending a request to the collection agency to remove it..
