First off, Cash back on a pre-paid Discover Card giftcard? Hoping for any answer or 2. Another question... I think I should quit now while I'm ahead and let my reports shake 'n bake for a while..

Approved:.

Cap1: $300 Credit Steps.

Walmart: $700.

Amazon "store": $1200.

Hooters: $?? (They wouldn't tell me my limit over the phone. Hafta wait for the mail. Yay!).

Denied:.

Orchard Bank (Max # of HSBC products held already).

AmEx (Should have known better ).

Discover (See above ).

BofA.

Chase.

Citi.

I have a "good customer" history with Chase from a sub-prime car loan with an interest rate from hell. They told me on re-con to let my inquiries age and re-apply. They were gun-shy about inquiry-spree I had. I guess I need CCT and MCK now, huh?.

I will add mine to the Credit pulls database, but they will be FAKO scores since myFICO doesn't like me for some reason. They want me to call them in order to set up an account...

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably know..

Hate to say it, but Walmart will probably see more use than the others. Walmart's aggressive marketing has all but bankrupted our local grocery chains, and the one other regional chain in my area has no store closer than 30 miles to me. Which means Walmart is pretty much my only grocery store. Their gas is also just about always 3 cents per gallon less than the gas chains by the interstate. So, Walmart's $700 CL just about covers my $200/month gas and $4-500/month in groceries. So, I'll actually use that card and PIF monthly.

Hooters card may never see the light of day!.

Congrats on the approvals.

What are your fakos like? From who?.

When you update credit pulls please make clear that they are Fakos and not Ficos...

They are all from FCR.com. Ex 715, Eq 588, Tu 687 before my app spree. Now they are 712, 584 and 644 afterwards. They'll bounce back up when all the new accounts age 1+ year. I just recently found ya'll and this place is quickly becoming a fave spot. Now, I feel like I can be a little better armed in regards to cleaning up our credit reports and rebuilding a positive credit history..

I added my approvals, except Hooters. I will wait until I get the card to find out my limit before I add it. I will add my denials later. It's just too painful to look at them again!.

I noted that all of my scores were FAKOs and that they were from FCR.com. Hopefully, that will be helpful to other people who fell for catchy jingles on tv!.

Got the Hooters card in finally! $600 CL, $36 AF, 25.7% Definitely not the worst card in my purse. Not the best either, but it's not the worst...

Oh, I am well aware that the AF is, in reality, a monthly fee of $3. It's still better than my Credit One account...

What's wrong with hooters charging a fee? Heck, the $36 a year for $500 is way cheaper than my $300 cap1 $39 a yr and crap limit, at least hooters does auto limit increases every four months.. they also charge no over limit fees now, I heard after one year you can break up the annual fee into monthly fees but you have to remember to always pay it every month, or do like I do PIF who cares about the APR...

Now anyways...

I am in about the same boat as you, but a little better...

In the past 3 months I got approved for...

Walmart, store $800.

JCpenny $400.

Macy's $300.

Hooters $500 AF $36.

Zales $750.

Paypal Buyer credit $900 Same as a Discover Card if you know how to set it up, or I can help you!.

Gap $400.

Carecredit $1000.

Homedepot $500.

Sunoco $800.

Marthon $150.

I got to stop for a year, I got denied by...

A few citi store and mastercards.

Statefarm mastercard.

Discover and amex I will never apply for them again!.

Target due to going BK7 on them.

And a few others due to too many inquires.. and it also dropped my average account ages...

Previous cards I had were...

Cap1 $300 & $750 for 2-3 years.. one has AF $39 other APR dropped from 24.90% to 4.40%.

HSBC $300 now $400 after 2 years.. AF $59 dropped in half now.

And had a firestone store card $750 which now is showing $0 I haven't used it in a good year, I'm calling tomorrow to get it back, hopefully. but they don't report balances..

Monthly fees open the door for failure..

Being 30 days late because of web error, lost mail, or just bad luck are terrible situations..

Hooters is also not that good of a card, I had them almost 16 months, no increases..

When I first started it was all about quantity, now I care about quality..

Find a good local cu and bank with them. I will do you wonders..
