My 1st question is: Can you use a Discover Card at disneyland? Looking forward for any response. Second question of mine... I made a HUGE mistake when I thought I was fixing my credit. I paid EVERYTHING. So although I was able to get a few deleted, I discovered this site too late. I currently have NO active collection accounts. |

Yup, but you might want to make sure and wait for someone else to confirm my answer as I am not confident. Better yet, why don't you call the Discover Card guys because they can answer you better...

Yes, I sent a letter to each of the three reporting agencies individually. One of the collections I hadn't paid yet nothing was working for me to get the CA to get rid of it so I just paid it. I sent a dispute letter as soon as it started showing up on my report as paid (several days later) and it was gone within 30 days. Just like all the others..
Here's the "this doesn't make any sense":. To: Experian. PO Box 9556. Allen, TX 75013. 11/24/2009. Regarding Account #€™s:. Xxxxxx. Xxxxxx. Xxxxxx. Dear Experian,. My name is xxxxxxx. My SSN is xxx-xx-xxxx. I€™ve recently obtained a copy of my credit report. For some reason you are listing the above referenced accounts on my report. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I have no knowledge of ever paying (with Discover card) these accounts or documentation of being charged for them.. Please advise me as to the name and address of this original creditor, and details on what these accounts are even for. Also provide full payment history, as I have no documentation stating that I have ever paid on such accounts. If you can obtain this information, I require the name of the person providing this data, and the manner in which it was obtained so that I may pursue additional legal remedies. Otherwise listing these accounts is in violation of my rights.. Your investigation into this matter is appreciated. 30 days from the date you receive this certified letter should be sufficient time for your review. Please correspond via my current address listed below.. Sincerely,.. |

PITA = pain in the ass..
I can't answer the frivolous part. Again, other than writing out and mailing the letters it was surprisingly simple to get them removed. Writing out and mailing is well worth the effort and it's a great feeling when they start to disappear. Going to the post office becomes fun. Oh and don't bother responding to them when they send mail back asking for a copy of your DL or a current bill etc. I ignored them. Here's the wrong DoFD one. Some of the details might not work for you so adjust as needed:. To: Experian. PO Box 9556. Allen, TX 75013. 10/20/2009. RE: Account # xxxxxx. My name is xxxxx xxxxxxx. My SSN is xxx-xx-xxx.. The date of delinquency of 1/2008 you are listing for account xxxxxxxxx is entirely incorrect. I have not even had an account with the original creditor since 2005 and this debt was transferred to another agency before NCO Financial. Please correct this date, otherwise listing erroneous data on my credit report is against my rights and illegal. Please have the agency provide you proof from the original creditor stating the correct date. If the agency claims the date of 1/2008 to be correct, I will need the name of the person providing this information and in the manner in which it was received, as well as a paper copy of their statement to you so that I may pursue further legal remedies. Your investigation into this matter is appreciated. 30 days from the date you receive this certified letter should be sufficient time for your review. Please correspond via my current address listed below.. Thank you for your time,.. |

You removed all 14!!! wow that's so amazing...I've heard from other forum that disputing valid account might sometimes get you into huge trouble though...this is why I dont dare to do it, so I assuming this "jack attack" method is safe???..

Disputing legit accounts as "not mine" is what can cause issues such unrequested fraud alerts. The "Jack Attack" method avoids "not mine" and focuses on real errors which should not cause you a problem. Just make sure that your letters are well written and specific so that you avoid being called "frivolous.".

Easiest thing to do is send a goodwill letter to the CA's that you still have reporting and ask that since you fulfilled your obligation to pay the debt if they would remove it from your reports.
Disputing them like someone said can have pitfalls... |

You can goodwill a CA? Seems like those folks have no goodwill at all!.
Makes me think of the grinch... |
