Got a question, hope someone can answer... Can you tell there is online accepted visa or Discover Card available in India(not creditcard)? Thanks for any response. My other question... Hi all,.

So, some background I have stellar credit, and never had a problem, but my girlfriend has had some problems in the past. I spent some time disputing off her baddies a few years back, and got roughly half of them to go away, most the rest that remained are over 6.5 years old at this point. I haven't been to the forum in a while now, but I vaguely remember people discussing in the past that once you are >6.5 years, disputing things tends to be a bit more successful. Is it worth doing another round, or should I just let it be to avoid rocking the boat and perhaps having some of the DOFD's updated erroneously..

We don't actually use her credit for anything, since my credit has never been a problem, but it is a constant annoyance to me that everything "has to" be in my name, so clearing this up will be a relief for me, even if it won't be for her..

Thanks in advance!.

You betcha! however you might want to make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm this as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Discover Card guys because they can answer your Discover Card question better...

Even if they don't reage, they will verify it and that can keep it on the report a little longer. DH's ended up staying on 7.8 yr because I tried getting it off too close to the drop date...

Whether on-line or mail.. human still sees it. (If I remember correctly)It just makes their job easier. Also you loose certain rights disputing things on-line verses mail...

Pacific Credit is a medical collection, all the rest are banks/credit cards...

I got lucky a year before, I disputed everything and I got 10 baddies dropped off early.. it don't hurt to try, sometimes they lose records and files and can't even find your information which means they must delete it! YAH!.

Good luck..

Visit the medical section on this forum for help with medical. Not sure if you can use obsolete with medical as Whycat has a Hippa process for medical sections..

As for the rest... you can try obsolete...

I think this is a bad idea.

The benefit of getting a clean report a few months early is minimal..

If something goes wrong on just 1 account, you have screwed up your girlfriends credit. There is no statute of limits on that!.

I think you are ignoring a more important problem. Going from bad credit to no credit. I suggest the 2 of you work on getting her some positive credit history started now. Just a few positive accounts will giver her great credit in a year.

I suggest she should get a secured MC or VISA in her name only, and use it. Also a store card that you would use frequently would be a good idea.

Good call on keeping credit separate...

Well if these items fall off due to age OR as disputed as obsolete they may still report on a FF credit report..

If these items are disputed and deleted for another reason they should not appear on a FF report..

For that reason, a dispute is a smart idea (as long as it is not based on "obsolete")..

She already has plenty of new established credit from around 2 years ago when I started helping her out several non-joint unsecured credit cards, largest unsecured credit line has a $5k limit, and an amex plat charge card, an auto lease (which I pay for, but it is in her name also, this isn't joint, it is coded as individual, but was mainly approved based on business I had done personally with the dealer). She's also an AU on a few of my cards to get a longer age of good credit (though her baddies have older "open" dates than mine, as she began establishing her credit before I did). Her scores have improved hugely since I started helping her out with all of that, but because of the baddies, it's still at the high 600's. Once her baddies roll off, she'll actually probably have better credit than me, because she has an older age, but until that happens, there really isn't much productive to do other than just keep her existing good tradelines active..

When I said "we don't actually use her credit for anything", I guess that was an oversimplification what I really meant was that we don't NEED to use her credit for anything ... Truthfully we don't actually need my credit for anything either we have no debts at all, and could migrate to paying (with Discover card) entirely with cash at any moment if we needed to, but I do like to have the option of having multiple good credit reports available in case we decide to use credit at some point in the future....

Wintery.

Excellent work!.

I would sit tight for 6 months, and then verify the old accounts came off. Less risk, less work...
