Quick question: Can you overdraw on pre-paid Discover Card? Thanks for any response. My other question... I have an Orchard rebuilder card already, so may get denied for another HSBC product because of that anyway. Got that about 30 days ago..

The HSBC wants 39/af and 9.9%.

The Household wants 0/af and 15.99%.

Not sure which is better, either will be token use and mostly with my socks. HSBC seems to be a little notch above the Household from what I read here, so any suggestions would be appreciated...

Of course! however you might wanna make sure and wait for another member here to confirm this as I am not completely sure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Discover Card guys because they can answer you better...

I have a Best Buy Reward Zone card and a Household Bank card. I was denied an Orchard because I have too many HSBC-owned accounts...

They usually allow you to have 2 accounts between Household, HSBC and Orchard. I think I've seen a few people with more, but 2 seems to be standard. Of course, as with anything, YMMV...

No af> af. Even if you maxed out the card(prob 300-500) the additional interest would still be less than the AF(6% higher apr * $500 = $30 year) allthough I thought you must wait 18 months after getting orchard to get another HSBC product..

From what I understand you need to wait at least 1 year between opening accounts and you can only have 2 active at a time now. About 4 years ago I had a Best Buy card, 2 HSBC cards and an Orchard so it's not something that's been there forever. YMMV of course but this fall I was denied a preapproved HSBC because I had recently (11 months prior) opened an account with Orchard. After my 12 month mark I tried again and was approved..

ETA: Oh, I see haydeno beat me too it. That's what I get for only reading the first line.

That may be right about the 18 months vs what I said as 12 months. I canceled my Orchard card just before 12 months to avoid the annual fee so I had no active cards when I applied..

I would take a card with No AF and pay it in full before the due date. I dont like paying (with Discover card) AF or Interest on the card...
