First of all Can the washington mutual gold debit Discover Card be used as a credit card? Hoping for any comment. Second question of mine... I applied for a card from US Bank today. After pulling my reports, I see two new hard inquiries on EQ: one from US Bank and one from US Bancorp. Do I have any recourse, or does allowing them access my credit report for the purpose of this application give them the right to inquiry me 100 times if they so choose? Also, does anyone have any experience with getting the extra inquiry removed or recoded?..

Yep, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm it as I am not confident. Better yet, why don't you call the Discover Card guys because they can help better...

Ugh... I called to verify some information for my Amazon Store Card application (same thing I had to do when I got the Walmart card). They verified my information through a soft to EQ. With Walmart, I received an instant approval on the phone. With Amazon, my application was "submitted for further processing", which resulted in ANOTHER hard on TU. I have no idea why GEMB verifies your identity with EQ but checks your credit-worthiness via TU... nor why they pulled a double hard...

I really don't believe it affects your score if it's within 30 days...

I'm not sure if that exclusion applies to another except auto loans and mortgages..

Also, whether or not your score is affected doesn't matter if you get declined for "too many recent applications for credit"...

Considering that I now a 3rd hard inquiry from GEMB/Amazon (despite having only applied ONCE), I'd have to say that there's nothing natural about them...

Adding new tradelines is 50% of credit repair. new tradelines require inquiries. some issuers often pull more than one inq. just look at crap1...

This definitely isn't CrapOne-style multiple inquiring:.

I applied ONCE for a card from USBank and ONCE for the Amazon Store Card...

1/12/2009 - I apply online. I get the 7-10 day message. Hard inquiry..

1/15/2009 - Since I got the same message when I applied for the Walmart card and knew that it meant that they needed to verify information (since I received a letter from GEMB over the Walmart card before instructing me to do so), I called them and did exactly as I did before. Hard inquiry..

1/16/2009 - I receive a letter in the mail telling me that they need to verify information about my Amazon Store card application, dated 1/12/2009 (confirms what I thought before)..

1/18/2009 - Another hard?!?.

Even if I somehow triggered something by calling them (not sure why), I can't explain that last inquiry...

PER CRA POLICY.

They can remove the one duplicate or re-code it (their policy~their call...not something I just made up).

Or.

GET SOME "B".
