That first, I would also call the courthouse to see if any judgements were filed against you. Have you moved recently or in the past few years? Do you have any outstanding debt that you think it may be for?..

The only people I know of that can drain your account without notice would be either the IRS or State Department of Revenue. Do you own back taxes?..

Spend some time in the HIBS subforum. Bank levies from judgment creditors are quite common...

Actually, the bank would have an Order of Garnishment from the Court. The OP could contact the bank and get ALL the info needed then contact the Court...

You accounts can be garnished if and only if your state laws condone it..

I agree with the other posters, cal the bank and find out WHO is getting the money, then find out WHY that WHO is doing it and HOW they got permission to do so..

Some states have laws in effect that you do not need to be notified of a garnishment and some states have laws in effect that a hearing must take place before the garnishment can commence...

Op what state are you in because if your close to New York you can open up a bank account in New York and the first $1720 of your account cant be touched by judgments. So you can open up bank accounts at different banks and keep the balance under $1720 and you're good..

You need to find out from hellsfargo who has put the garnishment on your bank account and work backwards from there...
