Question I have... Can health care workers receive discounts on home Lending Tree mortgages? Thanks for any answer or 2. 2nd question I got is.. All:.

After graduating from college, I moved into an apartment and bought furnitures from Rooms To Go. I applied for a Household Bank furniture credit where I did not have to pay until a year later. Before that year was up, I moved to another apartment and had all my mail forwarded. To make the long story short, I never received the statements they sent me. So, I never paid the bills (I know I should have been more responsible and just paid the bills without the statement, but I forgot when the payment were supposed to start). Anyway, they passed my account to a collection agency.

I was surprised to hear the news and just paid it off a couple of days later. The account was closed obviously. Now that I am trying to apply for a mortgage, that derogatory acct. is showing. I called the creditor and they told me that there is nothing they can do because it is over two years old and the fact that they never received the statements back, so there's no way for them to prove that I never received them.

Thanks!.

GC.

Yes sir! although you might want to make sure and wait for another member here to confirm this as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you e-mail the Lending Tree guys because they can give you help better...

You made two mistakes..

1*Did not validate.

2*Paid without deleting..

I had no idea about credit reports and FICOs at that time. How was I supposed to validate and delete before/after paying? This is good information to know. Thanks!..

Hi. You can dispute anything you find on your report. The question is, will they delete it? The answer is, you'll never know unless you try!! :) Dispute online with the CRA's as "not mine"/"don't recognize" and see what happens..

Good luck!..

=======================.

Know what the chittin shame of all this is?.

You and I could have had Identical reports and you just pay this off..

I Validate and or pay for with deletion in writing..

I now have a clean report and a high or good score while your report remains trashed and your score sucks..

Now you get to pay several hundred bucks more for each one of your auto insurance and homeowners insurance polices than I do..

Hay we're not done yet-It gets even better you also get to pay 20 25 or 30 percent interest on your credit cards while poor OLE me only gets to pay 5 10 or 15 percent..

Bet you wouldn't believe me if I told you this whole credit reporting/credit scoring thing is just one big shell game would you?.

I understand the effect of having a negative record. What I do not know is how to pay and have it deleted? I had no idea that one can negotiate such. Since I already paid this off, is there a chance it can still be taken out of my records? I hate the fact that I've paid it off and still paying now in terms of credit card interests and high Lending Tree mortgage rates. What can I do? *sniff sniff*..

CA isn't going to be nice and take it off, but like Luckymom said you can dispute anything on your CR's. Do you have all 3 reports? Is this the only negative? Start out simple and see if it comes off the easy way. BTW what CA?..

Maybe I missed this but did you say you recently paid this account in full? If you paid it 2-years ago, then the key to a successful dispute might be in that aspect! Maybe the OC/CA does not maintain records for more than 24-months past the time an account is closed, or charged off, or the archive of the records is not easily retrieved. As others have said, dispute it as not yours/not recognized because my I am betting that the OC/CA will not be able to locate the records and the TL more than likely will not be verifiable...

I paid it off a couple of days after I received a call from a collector. I recently called the OC to request my acct. # and they still have my record. It's been 27 months since I paid it off. *sigh*..
