Got a question, hope someone can answer... Can anyone tell me more about Community Reinvestment Act or CRA Lending Tree mortgages? Hoping for any answer. My other question... Anyone know who Daimler Chrysler will pull for credit in Texas? Is it all 3 CRA's?. |

Yep, but you might wanna make sure and wait for another person here to confirm my answer as I am not sure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Lending Tree guys because they can help better...

Thanks.
Nope, no jeep sorry.. The last and only jeep I had locked up on me doing 75 on the highway...by 'locked up' I mean a gear or something broke in the transmission and the wheels froze totally. like I was slamming on the brakes. very scary rolling off the highway with cars all around me. Can't believe I didnt hit anyone... |
|
Curious to know ....
What year/model was it that locked-up on you?. (Looking into purchasing one myself.).. |
|
Mark,.
Did you ever get in on the class action suit? IIRC, this was a big problem for Chrysler as a large number of Jeeps were affected by transmission problems and locked up similarly.. Then of course, there was the not insignificant problem of putting the brake and accelerator pedals too close together. A number of people went to brake, and ended up accelerating into houses, stores, cars, etc. Not fun!. DW and I were thinking about getting a Cherokee when our Lending Tree credit repair journey is over later this year, but the more I researched, the less enthused I became... |

Can I just throw in that I've sworn off american cars forever after owning a Jeep?.
I will keep the one I've got simply b/c I can't really afford to take the depreciation loss that it's already suffered in it's 9000 mile life, that comes with any new car.. [VENT]. The problems though, good lord. This thing must have been put together late on Friday afternoon. Seems like I'm in for warranty work every week, and my dealer refuses to give me a loaner.. I actually wrote a letter to Chrysler after the last time they kept my car for five days b/c the steering was messed up (this was at 6,000 miles). After a $230 rental car bill and the service dept never calling me back with status, it was finally finished Fri. evening. My steering wheel is now way off-center (looks like I'm perputally turning about 30 deg to the left), my airbag light stays on, and I can't afford to let them have it back to "fix" it.. After Chrysler got my letter, the svc manager called me up and offered me a half price oil change for my trouble. I was insulted enough that I just hung up on him, haven't heard back since.. [/VENT]. Whew, I feel better, thanks!.. |

(Jeep Grand Cherokee owner looking around from corner of the room)....(getting nervous)....(should she run?)....(should she ditch the car?).....(sweaty palms)...(Will car go tits up?)...AND the saga continues....

Wrangler owner here....
I love mine! She is a very bad girl though, because if she sees a trail of mud you can forget keeping her on pavement. Never have had to spend a dime on Jeeper, except for TOYS!!!!!!!.. |
|
Jlynn,.
U own a Wrangler, cool ... I'm looking into the same ... Not sure which year yet ... Yours has been dependable ... that's good to hear!.. |
|
I love it! Totally impractical, loud, rides like an 18 wheeler, and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Yes, it has been extremely reliable. I lied though, we did bust a bearing in the oil pan, put that was after a hard day in the Everglades, you can't blame that on her! and she still didn't leave us stranded..
I have had her in for regular maintenance at about 3 different dealerships, (we moved around a bit), and I have never had a problem with them. The bearing was covered under an extended warranty that they had never heard of, but they went out of their way to work with them so that I didn't have to pay up front... |

My apologies, was away for a bit..
The jeep was a 1984 CJ7 (I think). It was a 4x4. It was about 6 years ago that it happened.. It could have been a 1983 model (im not a car person).. |
