Got a question, hope someone can answer... Can a second Lending Tree mortgage note on one house be used as a downpayment on another? Hoping for any answer or 2. Another quick question... My wife had 2 Citibank cards..

A $4000 limit.

A $9000 limit.

She was late on a payment with the $4000 card and they upped her apr to 24%. Not too much we can b*tch about because we were late with that..

However, they have some bogus rule that if you are late with ANY of their cards, then all of the cards that you own will jump up to the same APR of 24%..

She has NEVER had a late payment until about 2 months ago and she has had the card for 4 years! She went from an apr of 9.7% to 24% on a card that she has ALWAYS paid on time!.

Can you believe it?..

Ye, but... you might want to make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm this as I am not confident. Better yet, why don't you ask the Lending Tree guys because they can give you an answer better...

Call customer service and complain about it. Last year, I was late ONE time, by a day or two, and was charged for a late payment fee ( I don't remember if they raised my APR)..

I called and complained *nicely* to customer service on how I was a long standing customer and blah, blah. The rep then said that she would remove it, however that she was only allowed to do this adjustment "ONE" time per calendar year for citi card holders. She removed the late fee and it never affected my APR..

I really do believe that reps have alot of flexibility to adjust your account, that is if you are nice on how you go about asking and you happen to get an understanding rep..

It won't hurt to try...

Thanks els,.

But we paid them off and they said that we had a finance charge of $71. My wife got them to remove that portion of the charge. They have my wife believing that after 6 months, if she pays on time, they will lower her APR back to 9.7%. They said she must use the card every month. :).

My wife really believes it!..

I believe it. Citi will up the APR if you are late with ANY creditor, not just your citi. This happened to my neighbor who was cussing at the CSR about that, Citi finally budged, but warned him that next time the decision is final. Anything to make money off us all I suppose, personally I think it's a cheap shot...

It happened to me last year around this time..

I had the card, and they pulled my Equifax report. At that time, I had negative items on my report. They jacked my rate to 24.99%.

I called and complained and told them that I was cleaning up my report due to erroneous items (before I found this board) and after speaking to a few reps, my apr was reinstated...

Umm, I don't understand how that will help us. Both cards now reflect 24% interest as stated earlier. They have some bogus rule that they up both APR's if one is late!..
